Hi Folks,

This is the first (modified) 6-seater Cybertruck I have ever saw. I figured I'd share it with you guys. I really do wish Tesla had kept their initial plans for the 6-seater but my guess is the middle passenger wouldn't have an airbag and would most likely smash their head against the center display which is why they decided against this.

Very creative mod- I’m big fan of full bench seats and this is about as close as we can get today. What I hope for in a six seater CT would be two seats per row, three rows. I’d love a CyberSUV. I hit my head almost every time

I get something out of the back seat with the slanted roof, and don’t like the slanted tonneau - it cuts out a lot of carrying space. I hear there’s no realistic future for this concept but I can dream.

There’s no reason Tesla could not install an airbag for the middle passenger that would inflate in front of the screen. But, costs were already spiraling out of control.

Pretty dope. It does appeared to have a seatbelt restraining system; functional in the event of a crash?🤔

Your guess is wrong. Franz explained as they shrunk the truck they initially prioritized the comfort of the driver/main passenger to match the levels of other premium trucks, which are primarily sold as 5-seaters. It was important to meet expectations of truck buyers at that price point.

He said a 6-seater option is still a possibility, but will require the other two front seats to be a bit smaller. Other brands like RAM offer 6-seaters and have large center screens. I think we'll see it eventually, about 40% of trucks are 6-seater configs, but usually in the lower trim levels.

When I was shopping for my last F-150 I had an inexplicable nostalgic dream that I wanted a bench seat, like the trucks of my youth. So that was one of my requirements. I've regretted it ever since, the Center Console is good to have in everyday use and having the driver and passenger seats designed without compromise is worth it unless you absolutely need a six person cab more than once in a while.

In the last 15 years we've used the center seat no more than twice. And there were available work-arounds if we didn't have it.

I just wonder if that mod is even really legal.
My guess: it’s perfectly legal…but the vehicle may no longer be lawful to sell.

A surprising number of laws derive their authority from the constitution granting government power to regulate commerce. Remember, every authority not explicitly granted to the government is reserved to the states or the people…
