Wow……just…wow. I was not expecting this today. I am not naive. I knew they were moving to autonomous vehicles and robotics. But I did not see the shift happening this quickly. I must say, I have followed Tesla since the 2012 Model S (I test drove it early on as a possible early adopter)...
I find this point moot. It says nothing about anything, and yet asks for more from nothing. Point delivered. And at the same time, point taken. Such a quandary.
Knowing Tesla’s history, I have a feeling this is not the end of the complete buy-out of FSD upfront. They are known to run promotions, or change policies, as a way to gauge consumer interest in certain options or incentivize customers to “jump in before it’s over” and ramp up the take rate.

This exact thing happened to me while I was on a ski trip in Vermont. Temps were below 0 F. Also got the “Gearbox Fluid Service” alert. I went in for service yesterday (soonest appointment I could get) and they checked both, and the service summary and the technician both stated...
Agreed. Usury is and always will be a form of indentured servitude. It’s the same reason I detest the elite, non-elected authority figures who state, “you will own nothing and be happy”. And yet they own everything and don’t seem too unhappy to me
I’ve been hesitant to try this. Not because I can’t also do the same and train the brain to adjust, but because in the (very) rare scenario where my wife drives the truck, I don’t think it would end well
Fair point. I guess if I were planning on routing through roads less traveled, it would be a worthwhile investment. Being in the northeast, I’ve never encountered a road trip I couldn’t tackle with NACS and J1772. And I’ve driven south to Virginia (DC area) and all the way north to Maine (Bar...
Luckily, I’ve never needed a CCS adapter when I’ve been on road trips. Hopefully I never will, because $200 is steep for something I may never need. With all manufacturers now on the NACS, it is unlikely any domestic travel will require this. The J1772 adapter that came with the truck has...
What base do you place your suspicion? Typically, Tesla maintains the tire selection of their models based on their original engineering data and use case. That doesn’t always portend to long life, and after owning 2 different models over the last 5 years, I will say that the OEM tires tend...
I was never a Boy Scout. But I figured their mantra was something along those lines. May not necessarily be their creed. But @ABILISK is correct. Just be prepared.
