Was wiping down ROADBOT's frunk lid wearing headphones when the frunk's auto-open activated. I failed to let up on wiping pressure before I realized what was happening. Now It will raise full open then drop a foot. Pressing close via any method won't take it all the way down to latch. I've reset to factory any saved travel limits and hard rebooted. During my last attempt during the opening I heard a loud clunk and then spring sound, perhaps some over-centering lift assist spring flipped to the wrong side? Guess I'm stuck at home until the next mobile service appt Tuesday afternoon unless I figure this out beforehand.

Same thing happened to mine, you literally have to time the closing of the frunk button on your phone while pushing down the frunk at the same time.. Until you visit the SC to get a fix.

Is there a way to override this to force the truck to drive with the frunk open? I worry about the zombie apocalypse. If a zombie opens your frunk while your inside, you can’t drive away without getting out remove the obstruction and close the frunk.

Check the hidden service section, there may be something to calibrate the frunk closure in there. I know the vault has a calibration that can be done in there.

Oddly, there is! I just found out about it two days ago when I needed to move the truck away from the house with the frunk open. Frunk was open and I put it in drive, IIRC a popup appeared and asked if I wanted to continue with it open.

Not sure if it would let us go highway speeds, though.

lol. In all seriousness, I think it’s a MAJOR safety issue if the car refuses to drive with the frunk open. It should have an override button you have to hold for a few seconds to acknowledge you are driving with it perceived to be open, according to the sensors.

I can easily imagine all sorts of life threatening situations where I just need to car to drive. Imagine trying to escape brush fires in Cali and in the chaos you get into a fender bender that breaks your frunk latch, and your car decides to brick itself stranding you..

Thanks for confirming!

this happens to me occasionally I find that I have to slightly adjust the part of the frunk latch that is on the bumper.
