Dude you're awesome, you literally read my mind.... I came to this thread to ask you for updates and to make sure you still like it or any issues/problems with it. I ordered the exact same one - just waiting for it to arrive. Thank you, I appreciate it.

Installed my version “3” today. Took some video, tbh it does show much additional to the original posters video, but it might add a different perspective.

I’m currently still finishing up my review of this mirror; and I was also noticing the rear camera seems warmer toned, and almost seems worse than the front cam. I still need to pull footage off the SD card to compare the raw footage though.

about to watch the vid to see if finally this is the one mirror that might help. as ive been looking at all the various mirror threads there always seems to be a deal breaker. the latest one that I thought about was what do do when I eventually put a bedcap and roof top tent on the CT? is there enough rear camera wire that will allow this camera be able to be relocated to the end of the roof rack?

The wire can reach the front of the bed if stretched and tucked efficiently. (I’m mounting mine under the tow hitch, using an extension cable I already had)
I don’t see as much benefit from mounting rear camera on the tonneau

I certainly had extra wire that I coiled up whether it was enough to get to end of bed rack I dont know but some people have rear bumper mounted so I think there is enough.

Good luck keeping your camera clean there!

finished video comprehensive but im a bit seasick after, haha j/k - seems like theyve made the installation a bit easier in this newer version! so as of now, none of this audio error message that prior versions have caused?

would be nice to have the ability to move the camera depending on your setup - at the aerocover with no roof rack and at the end of the roof rack when your rtt is mounted….will magnets stick to the aerocover? wondering if the cosmetic housing could be made magnetic to allow for repositioning.

this is giving me hope again for these third party mirrors, but its a real bummer that Franz didnt think of this ahead of time. I mean they made a self driving(ish) car for pete’s sake, lol

I might be able to redesign the camera housing to include places to glue in magnets, and then you could just stick the housing wherever you wanted it as long as the surface was metal, of course.

I guess I forgot to.show that in my video or that segment had an error in recording but basically I bought some of that 3M automotive adhesive tape at a local Autozone auto parts store and then cut pieces to fit as needed. Super simple.

I used some random 3M double sided tape I had lying around. I may consider re-printing the camera cover to put some slots in the first layer for the double-sided tape to fit so the cover can fit 100% flush with the cross bar. I don’t think anyone but me would notice, but the double sided tape does make the camera cover sit a little bit above the surface of the cross bar at the top of the toneau cover. Also, my camera was a very weird shape so I ended up having to hog out the inside with a dremel. If I reprinted, I would try to modify the internal structure to fit the camera exactly.
