How did you folks weather proofed the place where the camera wire goes in between the moonroof and the metal panel? For me it keeps leaking water bit-by-bit even with some foam around the wire.

I have foam rod running the length of the space between the window and the metal panel. I added a clear spot of silicone at the place the wire goes through...How did you folks weather proofed the place where the camera wire goes in between the moonroof and the metal panel? No, I actually tried a different camera from Amazon and had same issue. Started clear, then randomly when I turned it on it had a blurry picture.Dirty lens??
Yes it is crap. I emailed hansshow and they refused to allow me to return the mirror. They also refused to send me a new camera. They offered me a 25% discount.Image on the mirror for the rear camera is very blurry. Is anyone else having this issue? I thought when I first installed it was good. Changing the resolution in the settings doesn’t seem to change anything.
I don't doubt that you have a problem with the image (and I think you said only the rear camera not the one that is part of the mirror for the front image) and that you have had a good image but then it went blurry for some reason. My image has been clear since day 1 and has stayed clear so I do not have the problem you have. If you have tried a different rear camera and had the same problem then you've likely ruled out the camera. If the screen itself displays the front image just fine then your screen is likely fine. What does that leave? The wiring in between. I would see if Hansshow will send you just the wire that goes between the rear view mirror screen and the camera, then disconnect yours and without running it under plastics or anything just connect it directly between the mirror and the camera by running it out the window and around the truck. No, I actually tried a different camera from Amazon and had same issue. I had previously run a new rubber channel as shown in another video on how to seal that area. I found that there was one place where the line was coming across that channel and I had a new small leak so I took off the panel, re-adjusted the wire to not cross that extra rubber channel seal I put in and now it doesn't leak. I concur that adding this camera wiring can cause a leak to come back if you aren't careful. Some install videos I have seen I know from watching them that they must be leaking. How did you folks weather proofed the place where the camera wire goes in between the moonroof and the metal panel? Planning to try that this weekend, thanks for the feedback. Also, the temp here in Phoenix was slightly down last couple days and my last outing I did not notice the blurry screen. Could it be the mirror doesn’t work as well when it’s super hot?? Maybe, also could just be a coincidence. I plan to try a new cable regardless.I don't doubt that you have a problem with the image (and I think you said only the rear camera not the one that is part of the mirror for the front image) and that you have had a good image but then it went blurry for some reason. This will either show the same blurry problem or it will show a good image which means your wiring is bad and you need to replace with the one they sent you. Could it be your wiring is pinched somewhere? picking up interference from something or was just bad to start?
That's probably how I would approach it if I faced the same problem you are having. Process of elimination until the culprit is found!
Maybe some people are getting better cameras, but from what I can garner it is more miss than hit. My camera quality is bad enough that I gone back to using the Tesla on screen. Hansshow support will not support despite dozens of back and forth emails. They will not allow me to return the mirror, will not send another camera and they simply hand wave the whole experience with “take a 20% refund”.Planning to try that this weekend, thanks for the feedback. I reached out to Hansshow, they want a picture or video, unfortunately the pics of the mirror make the image look less blurry vs how it looks in person, we will see what they say.
You sure it’s version 3?Not sure if anyone if still using this piece of junk anymore… but I just noticed that the passenger side tweeter is not working. Brought it into Telsa to diagnose and the traced it to the hansshow wire harness for the mirror.
