I was able to borrow a 48 volt battery charger that fired the truck up and it is now updating the software with 44.25.5 The tech told me that they had a problem with one of the software versions that would cause this issue. I hope this works.
Mine did something like that over one of the updates. The 48v wasn't recharging while it was plugged into wall power to charge. Truck died plugged into the wall.

I jumped mine the same way but with a strong 12V power supply. So you don't need a 48v jumper, but it's nice. The truck has a built in 12v to 48v converter for jumping.

After I updated I haven't had any problems with the 48v battery. That was months ago.

Hopefully that's all you are dealing with.

No, it stopped stuttering. I told the service center about it and they said okay keep an eye on it but it stopped.
I would point Tesla to that issue when the topic of warranty comes up. If the problem was revealed while still under warranty, I would strongly suggest they make it work.

48 v charger enabled me to get the truck open but didn't solve the issue. Took the battery out, test at 41 volts, need to charge over night, will get it in the AM, install it and finish installing the latest update, 44.25.5, and hopefully it fixes the issue

I agree with @REM between the stuttering you pointed out to them a couple months ago and this, its worth asking them to take a look. They are notorious for randomly just fixing problems even without warranty, but especially if you pointed out an issue then, and it turned out to be in issue later, you can argue that the issue first occurred under warranty depending on what they diagnose.

The real question is when failures like this occur and the truck is out of warranty, then what? Oh well? Pay us the money to fix it or buy a new one? This is what scares me about long term ownership.
No different than zCE car. My Caddilac dies, I have to pay if I can't fix it.
I stop taking my CT on trips because I put 40k on it in first year. I drive my S

So, is this case an argument for an extended warranty for CT’s? What does that even look like if it’s a real thing?

Got the battery back, the person charged the battery said it was 44.7 volts... but I installed it in the truck and now it is installing the update. There are no more error messages. I got my fingers crossed, My legs crossed and my eyes crossed... Hope this works.

Truck is alive and the update is installed. Going to take it for a drive to see if it all works. Still have everything 🤞

The LV battery checks out okay they were able to reset all of the systems the correct way so now the truck is going through startup for half hour and then it should be fixed. I am not getting my hopes up but I will let everyone know.

Or at least that they include the PCS in the HV/DT warranty. Its absolutely asinine that they dont. The vehicle is garbage if the PCS fails.
Sure- they publish the repair procedure, sure, in theory one has the “right to repair”. But to obtain all of the tools, service mode + etc, one would need to spend crazy money to do it themselves. Or they can pay $7500 to have it done by Tesla.

I'm not sure I understand what the problem is.
50,000 miles is a long long time for a 12v battery>
No, it is not a lot.
