Yesterday morning, I went out to my truck after it had been sitting since Christmas Eve, roughly one week. I'd gotten a message that the right rear was low (it appears a nail had caused a slow leak). I refilled the tire, and then jumped in the truck. Battery showed roughly 50%.

When I went to put it into drive, I got a plethora of error messages (See attached screenshot).

Active codes showed as:
RSA_a211 Rear steering axle disabled - Turning radius limited. Exiting and re-entering vehicle may restore feature.
PEPS_a182 Rear axle steering disabled - Turning radius limited. Exiting and re-entering vehicle may restore feature.
DI_a062 Power reduced. Exiting and re-entering vehicle may restore feature.
VCRIGHT_a220 Low voltage electrical system issue detected. Vehicle power reduced. Schedule service.
HVBATT_a046 High voltage system error detected. Vehicle may not restart. Service is required.

Additionally, in the log were the following codes:
EGGRIGHT3_a447 Cabin climate control system requires service. Cabin heating/cooling limited or unavailable.
VCSEC_a221 Air pressure below recommendation for tires. Check pressure or refill tire as needed.
VCRIGHT_a361 Windshield washer fluid low.

I tried resetting the computer, and then did a hard reset with both steering wheel buttons. No luck.

The truck would not drive, so I scheduled a service appointment through the app - 14 days out! Not very impressed by that, on a vehicle that was inoperable. Fortunately, I still had my old Ram, so I took that to work.

By the time I got home, I'd got a notification that the truck had the 2025.45.7 update available. Figuring I had nothing to lose, I plugged in the truck, and installed the update overnight.

Fast forward to this morning, I went out to the truck hoping I could limp it out of its current spot to make access to the garage easier. Magically, all the active codes had cleared. Car was drivable, put 60 miles on it today with multiple stops, no problems.

Does anyone have any ideas what could have caused this? The truck is a Foundation Series, serial number roughly 19000 if that helps. I presume I should keep the scheduled appointment.

Thank you for the help!

I foresee a new PCS in your future. Or, it might be a simple as a failing MV battery.

I'd ask Service to review the errors and make a recommendation.

I’m seeing more and more of these post. I feel it’s only a matter of time for me. Just hope that time is under 50k miles.

Are you located in a colder climate area?

No, Los Angeles area. It was relatively cold by our standards, but that meant nighttime lows of 38-40, not sub freezing.

Sounds like a transient voltage issue where not everything woke up after deep sleep. I agree, a new PCS may be in your future. Definitely reach out to service so they can start remote diagnosis.

Have you looked at the charge curves when you charge at home? Are they consistent or bursty? (Meaning, do they go up to 48A and stay there or vary during the session.)

No software is bug free, we have to accept that, just like everyone makes mistakes. Happy new year!

I had something similar and it ended up being a faulty drive inverter they replaced. I got a loaner and it took them a week to get the part in and replace it under warranty.

Per TeslaFi, any home charges over thirty minutes duration are hovering around 47.7-47.8 amps.

Service has responded with a quote (all covered under warranty, except for the tire of course), but no remote diagnosis. Since it's drivable now, I'm just waiting to see what happens.

Oddly enough my build date falls under the inverter recall period (November 6, 2023 to July 30, 2024, build date of 6-24), but per the Tesla recall website the VIN is not subject to that recall.

Guess I'll just have to wait and see what they find.

Those are the same faults I had on literally day 2 of owning the my CB. Shutting the car down completely and leaving it alone for 30 min will reset the PCS but it will happen again until the PCS is replaced. I had those same faults get thrown again after about 16 days of ownership and had to do the 30 min shutdown/reset the PCS again.

Edit: over those 14 days, I drove roughly 5000 miles so I don't know if is time, distance, or both before you will get the issue again.

Update:

I had the truck towed in Friday as the problem progressed to where the truck would no longer start or charge before the scheduled appointment occurred. Except for the tow truck driver - of course it started right up for him and he was able to drive it onto the flatbed. There’s nothing worse than erratic issues.

Kudos to Tesla’s service team - they were responsive, and began working on the truck first thing Monday morning. The problem was quickly identified as a loose connector in the high voltage system by the air compressor when they pulled the bed (presumably to check the PCS). A quick reconnection and the problem went away. I picked the truck back up this afternoon.

I’m hopeful that fixes this issue. Assuming no more failures, I guess the moral of the story is that it isn’t always the PCS!
