Going to try that in the morning before heading to the service center with My girlfriend's old faithful Ridgeline.

Once you jump it on the posts in the frunk, you can open the tailgate, to get to the chargeport release.

But jumping the 48V doesn’t get it “really going”, it just limps along enough so you can get it to tow mode and to the SC, so opening their chargeport shouldn’t be your priority.

Please keep us updated on what happened. Most recently the major failure is the link between the HV and MV system, the PCS. Not sure why they're failing but several have. Mine did.

How do you jump start a 48 volt battery? All my jump packs and chargers are 12 volt

Edit - never mind. https://service.tesla.com/docs/Publ...UID-BC28BE8A-5596-498C-8D4A-A6BB75096A81.html

That's why it doesn't really run everything, it just limps along so you can load on the flatbed.

First you have to pull the little pigtails out of the front of the driver side front fender. That will give you enough power to open the frunk. In the frunk are two posts in front of the driver under the plastic cover, that you connect to, to power the mainscreen, which allows you to put it in tow mode.

Mine was plugged in when it died, so we had to open the tailgate to get to the charger release cable.

The tow truck driver seemed to know the drill.

Is there a 48v power supply on the market with a longer (as opposed to a 12v burst) suitable for powering up the truck?

Loaded some addresses into the truck and headed out of the driveway to view Christmas light displays at locations posted online. I made it about 100ft down the road and had to stop to clear the headlights. Got back into the truck and started getting all the lights and warnings. I barely made it back to the house by backing down the street right into my driveway. Tried a few things, screen reboot, hard reboot, nothing. Now, I am locked INSIDE the truck. and nothing is working. No power at all, no screen, no window power, I had to use the emergency release...and I was REAL careful when I closed the door.
Here are some videos with the issues.

I was able to borrow a 48 volt battery charger that fired the truck up and it is now updating the software with 44.25.5 The tech told me that they had a problem with one of the software versions that would cause this issue. I hope this works.

I was able to borrow a 48 volt charger that runs off for 120 that's what's powering the truck right now during the update.

Wow, that's crazy! Thanks for keeping everyone up to date. For my knowledge, and probably others, what is the process for "jump starting" a CT with a 48V power supply? And where does one get one of those?

I can't tell you where I got mine but once you get the front open using the terminals by the light right about in the middle of the front next to the brake booster you'll see the positive and negative terminals there connected and plug it in. The one I borrowed is 120 volts so you need a outlet to plug it in.

The truck downloaded the update but it's not installing it. It just says preparing to update but never does.
