Mine did something like that over one of the updates. The 48v wasn't recharging while it was plugged into wall power to charge. Truck died plugged into the wall.I was able to borrow a 48 volt battery charger that fired the truck up and it is now updating the software with 44.25.5 The tech told me that they had a problem with one of the software versions that would cause this issue. I hope this works.
I jumped mine the same way but with a strong 12V power supply. So you don't need a 48v jumper, but it's nice. The truck has a built in 12v to 48v converter for jumping.
After I updated I haven't had any problems with the 48v battery. That was months ago.
Hopefully that's all you are dealing with.
