Boo, I wanted rear view mirror and turn signal camera to stay simultaneously.
Yes, I’ve always wondered why we can’t have both together. I hate not knowing what’s going on directly behind me just because I’m signaling. Sometimes I’ll push the camera button to force the display but then you lose the red highlight blind spot detections.

I received my iPhone Tesla app update very early this morning. This is needed before the CB Christmas update (which will be 2025.44..25+ according to the update).

We (well mostly we) are on vehicle software (2025.38.9.6), which provided my CB to get FSD 14.2.1. Does this imply that the two branches 2025.44 and 2025.38 will finally merge?

follow the arrow on the location row is something that wasn't mentioned in the tweet I don't think. Hopefully they have some other unknown updates.

Sorry for the people who don't get Apple Car Play wanted. I have the media player in the Tesla system, it does not start when you get back in the truck, nor does it remember where you were like a audiobook MP3. I have not been able to play any ABKS because of this. Also what you have to navigate to just to get the player to play MP3 and shuffled is ridiculous.
Secondly, now they activate the Auto High Beams every time you start FSD. This does nothing but piss people off coming at me and when I am behind someone because it constantly goes from dim to bright and back for a light on some ones house in the country?? If you want to use your brights yourself you CAN NOT turn this off and if you put on the brights its back on again.
Also maps data or something needs to be updated horribly. I have a decommission school I have to drive by but the Truck still thinks its 25 mph. I am about ready to garbage bag those signs.
I am also tired of everyday I put on FSD it does not show my default route, nor will it save a route to work, I constantly have to let it start driving until it get to a spot it wants to go but I don't , take over until it decides I am going this way and then turn it back on. Its gotten worst of every iteration, I don't know why you can't save a route or if there is a traffic problem warn you and then suggest an alternative route, why fight you on the way you want to go.

Is that true – it turns on auto high beams and won’t let you deactivate it unless you deactivate FSD? That would really be a very poor decision choice. Auto high beams is not very effective, I have found that it constantly puts itself in low beams because of ambient light that has nothing to do with the road. It could really use some better AI to make decisions about high versus low beam. Until it does, it’s important for us to have manual control of high and low beams. It’s a safety issue. If you combine poorly functional high and low beams, and FSD that can’t seem to read street signs accurately, it’s now one and one equaling three.

No need to feel sorry for us, hope Apple car play fixes all that for you. Sounds like you and the Tesla UI don’t get along with each other very well.

I wouldn't mind Apple CarPlay, more options are better, not worse. I'm not convinced there aren't obstacles to deployment however. Wired CarPlay needs a data capable USB port, which means the glovebox is the only option. Wireless CarPlay works over WiFi, so that means repurposing the existing WiFi to be an AP instead of a client.

I don't always want to be the Donnie Downer either. I have one thing I am very used to and every car has had for 30 years now and now I don't so its a big step backwards. Which is purely my entertainment when driving. That is my only frustration is it was taken away I feel. Other than the weird decisions I do not understand with Tesla operation, for the most part I love the truck and would not trade it for anything else. I just think sometimes younger people don't understand their peers and wants. Especially when it is something every other car has in the world and they chose not to do it, Why?

My iTunes works flawlessly in both our teslas for my use case but I know no software is perfect. Just hoping CarPlay fixes that for you. Genuinely. I hated it when I had it in the bolt. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. In my opinion it creates as many problems as it solves.

I have a very similar experience. In my case there was a NEW roundabout built 3 months ago and the truck doesnt really understsand that its a new round about until it arrives at the round about - at which point it SOMETIMES takes the first exit even though the navigation is on and the route its to take the 2nd exit. Ill take a video of this and post it when im back in town. Navigation data + preferred route needs to be fixed / added.

I've had a very different experience regarding your points.

I've never had a problem with my truck knowing where I am in a song or audiobook (I even switch to my earbuds for the walk to the building at work so I can listen longer. Then, it's right back in the truck at the right spot in the book.

You can easily turn off the auto brights by simply tapping the light button on the steering wheel. A long press will reactivate it.

You can edit google maps yourself if something is wrong. The maps will only be updated when google deems it necessary to drive down that street for an update. But, between their updates, you can go to google.com/maps and edit the street, speed, direction of travel, etc.

FSD has recently started selecting a different route for me in the morning. I can see where it's trying to take me... no thanks. So, I just hit "end navigation" and then "Navigate to work". It resets. Mind you, it doesn't ALWAYS pick the other route, just sometimes. Maybe it's a minute faster or something.

Does Google maps show that roundabout? If not, you can add it/edit the street on google maps.

I don't think you have tried this since version 4.2.1 of FSD, you can stop it and stay on Dim all the time, BUT if you turn on the Brights, its right back to Auto Control, not manual, that is my issue.

"I've never had a problem with my truck knowing where I am in a song or audiobook (I even switch to my earbuds for the walk to the building at work so I can listen longer. Then, it's right back in the truck at the right spot in the book."
I am guessing by how you word this that you are playing the book on your phone like "Audible". I am referring to putting a MP3 File on a USB Drive and plugging it in the glove box and reading it with the Tesla supplied media player. I am just trying to be clear what I am trying to do.

"You can edit google maps yourself if something is wrong. The maps will only be updated when google deems it necessary to drive down that street for an update. But, between their updates, you can go to google.com/maps and edit the street, speed, direction of travel, etc."
I have never tried to edit Google Maps to change speed limit signs or school zones, I would be surprise they would give people that power....Can you imagine 'I think this road should be 75...even though the signs say 35' ;)

"FSD has recently started selecting a different route for me in the morning. I can see where it's trying to take me... no thanks. So, I just hit "end navigation" and then "Navigate to work". I agree I can get it close but even after three times of canceling and asking the same I get the same routes (3 of them) none are what it took yesterday. Or even the same route from morning to afternoon. I looked on google and on the computer you can edit and set a route exactly where you want it to go, BUT when you send it to your phone that route goes back to what ever Google thinks is the best route. I looked this up and there are many people who have pointed this out and Google just says "Its automatic and better because it always up to date." I disagree.....

And again my friends I only am explaining what has happened to me and my area, you may live in a better mapped area and never see this. When I got my CT a year ago, FSD couldn't even stay on the road of a unmarked country road. Different story today, its a marvel feat of programming. I am just not understanding some of the decision made at Tesla, that should seem obvious to us. Just my Engineering opinion.

Right, because you re-activated brights. You can turn it off, just like before.

or you can just keep them on like most of us do and most car owners. They turn off when they see other cars, it's much improved unlike the past. You have the option to turn it on/off, with FSD on or just leave them on.
