How hard is it to disassemble the charger? Might just buy the part and DIY this one.
I was thinking similar or at least attaching heat sink to it to dissipate the heat. I don't recall how much room there was when I last opened the panel at front of console replacing the LED light, but will check.

I don't think they're actively replacing these unless there's a fault so may just take that route

I have a mobile service appointment on the 30th to replace mine. I opened the service request asking if there was an updated part because my chargers have never worked beyond just overheating everything. There's not a ton of free space in there, but you could certainly adhere some lower profile heatsinks to the module, maybe even wire up a fan in there. I wonder though if there are internal changes.

I'm still waiting for them to provide an estimate (which I assume will be warranty), so it's possible my request could still be cancelled.

I just submitted a service request and have a Mobile Service appointment for 06/27. Will report back any information.

ETA: The EPC lists the charger part as up to Gen 5 now.

I’m assuming the ‘early’ builds had the non-heatsink version. Seeing that they’re on Gen 5, it’s apparent that Tesla knew this was an issue and has been working on a fix.
