I might be able to redesign the camera housing to include places to glue in magnets, and then you could just stick the housing wherever you wanted it as long as the surface was metal, of course.
you are the designer of the 3d printed housing? Could you make it narrower so a bambu a1 mini can print it? Thanks

I used some random 3M double sided tape I had lying around. I may consider re-printing the camera cover to put some slots in the first layer for the double-sided tape to fit so the cover can fit 100% flush with the cross bar. I don’t think anyone but me would notice, but the double sided tape does make the camera cover sit a little bit above the surface of the cross bar at the top of the toneau cover. Also, my camera was a very weird shape so I ended up having to hog out the inside with a dremel. If I reprinted, I would try to modify the internal structure to fit the camera exactly.

Did you print the modified one that I uploaded that was designed for this new camera?

I'm not the original designer, I modified one that I found on thingverse. I don't know how wide the A1 mini prints, but can't you simply scale to fit in the Bambu software? Then you might have a little to Dremel out so the camera still fits.

I’m currently still finishing up my review of this mirror; and I was also noticing the rear camera seems warmer toned, and almost seems worse than the front cam. I still need to pull footage off the SD card to compare the raw footage though.
Did you ever end up pulling the footage to see if the quality was the same?

On screen there is a different hue to each camera as I would expect since the cameras are different cameras with different sensors. Not sure why someone would want a color match. Both are different hues from stock Tesla cameras as well. To me this isnt an issue as long as the image quality is good which it is.

I slapped together a quick video to demonstrate the quality and color differences. Overall, it's fine as far as seeing license plates and street signs.
(KEEP IN MINE I JUST UPLOADED THIS, SO RESOLUTION MAY APPEAR WORSE UNTIL 4K PROCESSING COMPLETES)

I see we have the same “problem” the rear camera sky is perpetually grey.

Yes it almost appears to have a filter applied to the footage. Definitely not as vibrant as the front camera.
this makes the rear cam stream look inferior on the mirror itself imo

I saw that it says 2k/4k, does that mean it can record in 2k or 4k or maybe the front camera is just a higher quality 4k camera and the rear is 2k?

Do you think the plastic cover thing has anything to do with it since the front camera is open and the rear one is in a shadow so to say since it has the shroud over it? Personally as long as the quality is good and you can see what you need to I wouldn't care, but I do see what you're talking about visually.

I don’t have a 3D printer, but I’m open to purchasing the camera housing from a member of this forum.

After spending several weeks with the mirror, I thought I would post a follow up to say that the mirror has been flawless thus far. No overheating no loss of image, no rebooting, or anything other than working as it should. It's funny, but because it is a "mirror" in the spot of where a real mirror would be sometimes, I look at it to see my reflection and of course cannot. :)

If there was one gripe I would have it would be that I wish it would auto adjust its brightness based on whether it was day or night, either along with the main screen in the car, or simply a sensor that picked up ambient light and adjusted accordingly. It isn't a big deal to swipe brighter or dimmer but again, it would be nice if it did it for me. At night I think there is a little more glare from headlights behind me than with the Tesla camera but the image is also bigger so I expect there to be a bit more glare. It isn't anything significant or bothersome, just something I noticed. I can tell the distance of the car behind me better at night with the Hansshow mirror vs. the stock video display. A couple of people have asked me if I can turn off the recording or the clock. I assume if I pull the micro SD card that it won't record, but I don't know if it would throw an error message or not as I simply haven't tried it. I did not see any way to turn off the clock, if someone finds a way please let me know and I will try it, but honestly I don't mind the clock. The date below it is in a funny non-US format so I usually just ignore that.

As you can see this stuff is pretty minor, as for giving me better visibility, it certainly does that, and as I said, it has been operating flawlessly thus far.
