Of course, it’s a blue state!
How much are you paid to continue to divide along team lines?

What’s in it for you? Doesn’t matter, every time one of you does this shit is when I mute you. Either side.

It’s pretty obvious what NJ is doing. Please mute me!

Pretty concerning, not an issue for many but if they start pulling superchargers that really changes things.

This is sickening....

Here is the report https://dep.nj.gov/wp-content/uploads/drivegreen/pdf/njdot-nevi-plan-update-sept-2024.pdf

It seems the 8 stall Tesla locations are being replaced with 4 stall chargers (WTF?) and instead of Tesla Superchargers able to hit 250+kw the new chargers are only required to hit 150kw (WTF?). No mention of service planning or uptime requirements. Also no mention of these chargers needing to have competitve pricing for power, so you know they are going to hose people.

Why? Apparently someone in power wanted to prove to a certain political party that they were deploying NEVI funding to install "new" chargers -- in place of already working, higher powered, chargers. But I guess they don't say that last part out loud amongst themselves or at press conferences.

The report does appear to indicate that NACS will be supported:
The contractor will be required to provide at each DCFC Charging Station:

» A minimum of four charging ports capable of charging at or above 150kW simultaneously:

» Ensure each charging port can support output voltages between 250 volts DC and 920 volts DC.

» A minimum of four Combined Charging System (CCS) connectors.

» A minimum of four North American Charging Standard (NACS) connectors.

» DCFC Charging Stations fully capable of charging four vehicles simultaneously through either the CCS or NACS connectors at a minimum charging level of 150kW.

The NEVI implementation Contract requires a minimum of 4 ports at each of 19 Stations for a total of at least 76 ports; each port will have a CCS and NACS connector.

The only one who suffers are us people in NJ, the only one who benefits is the state of NJ. I can say at least in my area - there are a LOOOT of teslas and I'm sure other owners like myself would prefer to use their network.

I could see adding another company to the charging availability, but not removing one to replace with another. In the end people will use what is economical and convenient. I’ve see some new chargers going up in Florida but none faster and cheaper than Tesla. At super chargers my average price has been 38 cents per kilowatt. Charging speed is another story. The newer Tesla charges start out very fast and quickly slow down even when batteries have been preconditioned on route. The best locations in Florida are occupied by Tesla now.
I don't understand the technology; but I would hope the reduction in charging speed is to protect the battery.
