Pre 2020, Elon was very vocal about looking for partners in the auto industry. Taking Tesla’s tech and innovation, with Ford’s 100 years of truck experience could’ve made something great.
I don’t see the hype about Rivian. I really wanted to like it, I drove it, and just like OP said. It is cramped, motors are noisy, seats are not comfortable - it’s just meh, but it doesn’t cost meh money. I also do not believe any part of a rivian is full size. R1S / R1T = 4runner / Tacoma
I...
I don’t know if it’s the front motor, or the super manifold, or wind buffering - it is loud. I don’t think just saying “it’s a truck” is justifiable in this situation. Model Y is very quiet. F150 Lightning is even quieter, at any speed. You can without exaggeration hear a pin drop.
That is not entirely true. Again. I wish I still had IEEE code access, Romex is only to be used for indoor installations. It should never be installed in conduit, however you can if you have (again I forgot what code quotes for expansion percentage). I hope someone with access can comment...
Romex should not be in conduit. Anywhere. However, if someone with IEEE can assist, there is a caveat where you can install romex in a conduit assuming it has something like 50% expansion. I don’t remember the numbers but I am sure someone here can assist.
However, I do not think this was your...
Tesla installation instructions do not call for an emergency disconnect. I don’t understand the reasoning for this.
The picture you sent looks like sleeved romex. That should not be in a conduit. Review tesla installation instructions, I’m perplexed for the disconnect.
@Carlos Thomas. In my opinion, installation is very straightforward, but there’s room for error due to inexperience. Since we’re all thinking it. I’ll ask - can you comment on:
1. What gauge wire was used?
2. Single strand or romex?
3. Breaker size?
4. Total amps going to the house?
5. Total...
Your caliper and bracket appear to be painted and/or powder coated - what was actually done? If you rattle canned it on with some high temp paint, one of the pins/pistons could’ve seized.
if you did it correctly, and removed the bracket and the caliper for powder coat — did you isolate all...
