So they’re making the switch back to ccs on the turnpike just as the industry is switching to nacs? Wow. Guess I’m eating at Wawa and not Sbarro anymore haha.

Yeah, Tesla was charging $.39 per kwh. Applegreen with their exclusive is charging $.59 per kwh. Have to get the kickback added in.
I agree, Gov. Murphy slapping Elon on his way out and I would wager Applegreen will be a major campaign contributor for Murphys Presidential run in 2028. As for me, I will get off the turnpike to use Tesla Superchargers and then get back on. Applegreen won’t see a dime from me.

beyond f**ing stupid. Just another reason I will never set foot in New Jersey while it continues to be run by corrupt politicians.

Why am I not surprised. This state always has its hand out for something, I am sure this alternative solution provided more of a kickback to them and I'm also sure these chargers will charge customers more and be broken 95% of the time leaving people stranded - Until they have to crawl back with their tail between their legs. It'll work out great, just like it did with their plastic bag ban, they only tripled the amount of plastic thrown out with that brilliant idea.
Exactly. That, and the fact it's CCS not NACS. So dumb...it's like they're trying to kill EV adoption.

I-295 here I come. I am not going to give those flogs at Apple green any of my green. What a ridiculous decision.

Shame to because this is generally a liberal leaning state that believes in science and climate change so if something like this was anti-Elon then someone gave very bad advice to the state.

I was on the Turnpike last Friday and saw the overhead signs saying 'EV Charging Unavailable at Next Stop' all the way to NYC. Thanks Gov Murphy. All I know is whenever he runs again I'll make sure to give money to his opponent to help bury him. I don't think Murphy ever understood NJ, Bridgegate killed Christie's hopes of ever being elected to any public office. ChargingGate should do the same for Murphy.

How big is this problem for people who (for whatever reason) are forced to drive in New Jersey? I haven't done that in a while, but my recollection is that:

(1) The NJ Turnpike is a toll road, so getting on and off is inconvenient

(2) But there are "travel plazas" along the way that don't require leaving the Turnpike, so more convenient

(3) The travel plazas have food and gas and stuff, but the options are limited and totally overpriced

(4) You can get more options for lower cost if you skip the travel plazas, exit the Turnpike, get your stuff, and then re-enter the Turnpike, but this is less convenient

So now the options are either (3) with a non-Tesla charger, or (4) if you want to use a Tesla charger?

If you drive a Cybertruck, and the only stations on the NJ Turnpike are CCS, you're not charging without getting off if you want an approved charging stall and/or adapter. Tesla hasn't certified or manufactured any CCS adapters for Cybertruck AFAIK.

never heard of applegreen electric chargers.
Looks like they are based in Ireland, and are a major player in the British Isles when it comes to charging. In Ireland, they appear to have more chargers than Tesla, and they are in the UK as well. Guess they are now expanding to the US.

From their FAQs:
Do you have the capability to charge Tesla vehicles?

Our site locations in the state of New York have Tesla CCS adapters available for use.
Don't know how well that works in practice, or if it even applies to Cybertrucks specifically.

Dumbest idea yet. The chargers are always being used, it is super convenient, and safer. Something is rotten in Jersey and it is more then the stink.

Not according to a video I watched
They will be NACS, available to almost all cars. No charger plug is open to all. Hopefully NACS will solve that problem.
