I also want to note that because it's a lever, it makes pulling the manual release easy enough for a child to manage in an emergency, but has enough resistance that the pull has to be intentional.
This was a concern for me for my 9yo daughter who is a bit of a waif with dainty little fingers, but she can work it easily now.
Also, the rubber mats that normally cover that area still fit with the door release installed since it's so low-profile, so if you don't want them visible, you can put the mats over them and still retain the functionality in an emergency situation.
Finny got them printed. I tried a glow in the dark filament, but my glow filament is blue(looks awesome), didnāt really match the look I was going for, and I wasnāt sure how much light there would be to charge it. I also had a bright orange filament and wasnāt paying attention and ran out mid print. So I went yellow which matched the Eject handle aesthetic I was looking for.
Amazing design. Maybe the best most useful design for the CT Iāve seen so far. Hope I never need to use it.
I make and sell these if anyone is interested. Mine are designed a little different and have a metal hinge pin for smoother functionality and made from ABS. Also everything I make has a lifetime warranty. I have a website or you can purchase from my Etsy, Ebay or TikTok shop.
