I think I would take mine just up a couple notches in brightness from the current level that comes stock with the truck. Many of us are screwed on resale. Its more of the level of screwing desired at this point.

One question. Is it easy to go back? I would think so. Just making it even all over the truck might be the issue on returning to stock.

It’s not like a wrap you can remove. It’s permanent.
You can restore the factory finish, but probably at about the same expense as polishing it.

The trick is to convince the next buyer that he can do it himself with a buffer and a couple of beers 😂

Isn’t there a wrap that could do this? I’ve seen some colored chrome CTs.

The amount of work/cost would be comparable to a wrap I imagine

Not so permanent. Just wipe it down with Bartenders Friend to put it back to a factory finish
They have official Tesla instructions for orbital sanding to factory finish. It ain’t rocket surgery…but then again, neither is polishing. If you’re willing to spend weeks doing it yourself, it could be relaxing and enjoyable to work on.

If you get sick of the mirrored look, you can always wrap it.

It is beautiful, easier to clean, will last as long as original stainless. If you research it, you will realize that the metal changes due to molecular changes; it takes heat to do it with buffers and makes the metal harder on the surface. And mine is a farm truck.

Mine is polished, I love it. It makes the truck very unique. I made a mistake about putting magnets on it in the 2024 Christmas season and those magnets scratched the panels, so I'm not the most happy about it, but I guess that would have happened even when it's not polished. Silly me. The guys from the local Tesla service center said that it is the best work they have seen so far.
