Mine is polished, I love it. It makes the truck very unique. I made a mistake about putting magnets on it in the 2024 Christmas season and those magnets scratched the panels, so I'm not the most happy about it, but I guess that would have happened even when it's not polished. Silly me. The guys from the local Tesla service center said that it is the best work they have seen so far.

Looking at the beach photos, I can totally see a Tesla FSD vehicle driving right through a polished CT…but then again, maybe not because the reflected image of the Tesla would probably be interpreted as an oncoming car…I’m sure we’ve all seen the lidar vs. Tesla FSD tests with painted barriers exactly mimicking roadway and background…Who did it?
Mark Rober's test was proved to be badly executed, which is a shame for an ex-Nasa engineer. The test has be reproduced and HW4 with FSD v13 passed the test with flying colors.Looking at the beach photos, I can totally see a Tesla FSD vehicle driving right through a polished CT…but then again, maybe not because the reflected image of the Tesla would probably be interpreted as an oncoming car…I’m sure we’ve all seen the lidar vs. Tesla FSD tests with painted barriers exactly mimicking roadway and background…
It's not permanent at all! It can be brought back the factory finish by sanding the original pattern back into it using a random orbital sander. This would take about 1/10th the time it took to polish it to a mirror finish.I’ve considered it. But for my personal situation, I realized that if I ever plan to (or have to) sell mine, the buying pool for a polished CT might be pretty small. It’s not like a wrap you can remove. It’s permanent. Your call.
