CT in 2026?

It’s DOA in my opinion.

Did VW poach the Rivian design team in the $5 billion dollar software deal?

The base price will be $75k by 2027, it’s longer than a Cybertruck with no RWS, no 3rd row seating option and the design is too futuristic. The designers lost that retro design vibe.

Delete the LED Scout badging and nobody could tell you the model or who the manufacturer is. It’s looks nothing like the 1960-1980 IH Scout trucks.

I might have placed a deposit if they would have kept 90% of the OG body styling and plopped it on the new galvanized ladder frame.

I'm sold on it, BOF is where my heart resides. IF they can keep to the price estimate (long shot based on literally every manufacturer in the last 3 years)

Excited with 500 miles range after the major range anxiety I had in the road trip to Northern Nevada, Idaho, Montana and Alberta/Banff.

This is what Toyota should have done with their Tacoma and Tundra EV/hybrid instead of just increasing the power of the vehicle.

GM is also coming up with EV/Diesel but for defense and tactical or most likely just military.

I think this Scout product can be compelling, but I tend to quickly snap back to Tesla's product and tangible value add through best in class buyer experience (personal opinion), FSD, and material inky foind in Tesla today.

No way they were going to do that in 2020s.

Not a Scout specific comment, but any car manufacturer coming out with a product in 2027 without autonomy is making a horse in the car world. Some folks will buy it for novelty of having a horse. Weekend runs and such. A very small segment of population will want that. Unless VW is going to license the tech and build this car such that it can be autonomous it’ll flop.

This is good for electrifying the future of electric trucks, but For me, Stainless steel is the top go to feature.

Both VW and Rivian are in financial near doom. I have no idea where VW will find $5 billion. They are already $200 billion in debt and have publicly stated “the house is on fire”.

I’m not sure what’s happening here. Nothing can beat the CT design, utility, capability, range and quality.

They would have been better off begging Elon for the CT so they can rebadge it as a scout.

No one is going to ask about this at cars and coffee…: not interested.

If the Scout SUV was out now at that price I'd get it over the CT. I'm still waiting on what was advertised for the CT, I imagine this one will be overschedule and over budget as well.

I think the Scouts will be Rivian killers and not have a huge effect on the cybertruck. I would never consider a rivian but a well made Scout (like their old products) I would consider.

The same scout that would rust out in a first year of ownership, whether you used it or not?
