I HATE articles like this that are totally disingenuous with facts and motives. Clearly, it was designed as another way to take a shot at Elon Musk and Tesla. And then all the other Elon haters, who have never driven a Cybertruck, jump on the bandwagon and repeat all the clickbait hearsay they’ve seen. They can’t separate their feelings about Elon from their view of his products, regardless of the facts.

Is Tesla perfect? Of course not! But it’s nonetheless one of the most, if not THE most, innovative companies out there. That’s why they have a legion of fans. I’ve become one since owning the Cybertruck (our first Tesla). So much so that we’ve recently purchased a chunk of stock in the company. The forthcoming products, like robots, robotaxis, etc., potentially foretell a very bright future for them in the long term. And their production cost advantage on EVs relative to other companies is dominating—at least for now.

Unfortunately, these disingenuous articles do actually impact less-informed opinions, which can hurt sales in the short term. But I think the Cybertruck is such a great vehicle that it will win in the end.

Either way, we’re enjoying ours tremendously!

Does anyone believe this? In other words, has anyone else felt this way?
Smells like BS to me, but I’m open to being told otherwise here by other genuine owners of a CyberTruck. Sure hasn’t been my experience. In fact, it’s the exact opposite from my experience.

Note, this was in the article’s responses (the OPs linked article).

Ridiculous. That's contrary to real experience and even the most biased anti-Tesla reviewers. No matter how much they hate the CT they've been pretty blown away by Steer-by-wire.

That’s what I thought too. Thanks.

One of the best things about the Cybertruck is the steer by wire. Maybe it takes some people more time to get used to it. A test drive probably isn't enough time.

I suppose that’s a possibility. But in getting used to it, I would have thought the response would be in the other direction instead. In other words, I would think a person would have to get used to it being really responsive vs the other way around.
When I first drove ours off the lot, there was almost zero adjustment period for me. It just seemed so, so easy to steer! In fact, the couple of times I’ve driven our old 2015 Dodge Caravan (I think literally twice, maybe 3 times; only when absolutely necessary, lol), It’s been more of an adjustment than it was driving the CyberTruck. Feels like you;re turning the wheel for days now just to turn left or right! ?

Not all media should be judged based on the actions of a single, small outlet that publishes a poor-quality article. That approach is akin to saying that because the Ford Pinto was a flawed car, all cars are bad......
I'm not too sure about that. With a well established bias, additional reasons to hate are certainly welcome. No thinking is required, no complicated analysis, and the pre established opinions harden even further. What's not to like?

I'm so glad you're already enjoying your CT. I've been a fan of Tesla that's why I'll upgrade my Model 3 to CT. I also believe in the company that their future is bright as they are still building new factories, researching for better batteries, streamlining production and branching to other energy, ai, and other tech products. I think this company is still an infant and it will be a big, big giant company when it matures.
So, I also have Tesla shares which I started 5 years ago and hopefully I'd still be around when the share value gets to $2,000 based on today. Hoping it does but I'm not a spring chicken to maybe witness it.
There's my one wish for Tesla. Wish that Elon would not be too loud in his political opinions because right or wrong not all people will always agree with you, me or him. His voice affects customers and shareholders and he's a heavyweight so his opinion is taken seriously by friends and foes. You don't hear real business heavyweights talking politics loudly. They lay low and support with their big money behind the scenes like the Koch's and the Soro's among others.
Too bad, I can not afford the foundation series so I'm hoping that as production ramps up to 250K units per year that Tesla will fulfill their promise of the $79,990 that could qualify for the $7,500 incentive for AWD.

I regret starting this thread as it seems to have brought us all down a bit. In our daily interactions with the public and our chosen vehicle, we encounter a mix of experiences—some positive, some not so much. Unfortunately, this article reflects extreme bias and a lack of understanding, which seems all too common today. I realize now that I should have simply ignored it instead of drawing attention to it.

That said, let’s stay strong, my friends. We alone know the excitement and the unique experience of driving the Cybertruck. Those who criticize are likely just envious—it’s as simple as that.

I’m glad you posted it! I went on the website and responded to the article via comments (had to sign up was the only drawback). So at least they’ll hear the truth from someone, even if in comments only.

I read the link with an open mind and I agree on some of it. I like my Model 3 now although it's range is not so good in 75 mph speed limt, so I ordered the AWD based on $79,990 that would qualify for the $7,500 govt incentive reduction. I could stretch my budget at $72,500 which would go close to $80,000 again after all the fees, charges, insurance, and taxes. Paying another $20K was not my plan. I feel I'm taken advantage by Tesla's own shortcomings on it's promised delivery time. My order was not early so I'm willing to wait for my turn. I'd love to drive that CT. I thought the original price and 340 mi range was good enough for me to sacrifice my budget. For now, if I get it at the original price, good, but if not, so be it. I can be loyal to Tesla but if there's a surprise in the horizon, I'll go for it.
What Tesla did by jacking the price up to advance delivery time didn't boost their image to those who are not already Tesla fans like us.
But, I'll wait for next year's news before I'll make a decision as Elon keeps changing his mind anyway. We don't know what future brings.
I totally agree with you. This truck is more than double what I would justify spending on a depreciating asset. It took me three days to decide to pull the trigger on configuration back in December '23 when I was sent the invite from Tesla. That three days put me much farther down the list. The reason it took me three days to decide is because of price. I had budgeted the cost to be $80k. So $120k was a blow out of my plan. Now I have the truck and its unlike anything I've ever owned and I look for places to drive to for any reason.
