I did extensive testing today on the Hansshow Rear view mirror power harness connection, the Hansshow LED light strip power harness connection and the front bumper LED light bar power connection. I have taken videos of the testing and will post them. Hansshow has been notified that their power harness for either the rear view mirror or the LED dash light strip simply do NOT supply power to downstream devices and they kill the power to the speaker in the B pillar as well. I need to update my article accordingly but for the time being I find this to be a significant flaw unless the mirror is the only device you are ever going to attach and you don't care about sound out of that speaker.

my results were comparable, it does NOT pass power through thr splice. In my case I was testing a drivers display from another vendor. To be fair, when I reversed the splices the dashboard display did not pass power either so would take out the rear view mirror display. still waiting on a solve from the dashboard display vendor.

I have a feeling someone in China came up with the cable design and others copied it and only firms that spent time designing from scratch or improving that defective design have cables that work. See the separate topic thread I posted with video, it is possible to make a cable that passes through power to subsequent items in the chain.

In case you were wondering what the rear-view mirror is like in the winter vs the standard tailgate camera, here is your video:

@TeslaKen Has @Hansshow Technology responded to you or given any updates about this or a fix? I have tagged them multiple times on these threads and emailed them a number of times as well, I don't even get a response from them or customer service. It's probably some of the worst customer service I've had with a product for something that is an easy fix - just send out a new harness, don't ignore your customer.

I don't have anything "official" from them. I have been in communication with one of their people who works on marketing their products and interacting with influencers, etc. and I have stressed to him how they need to take care of this. He has checked for updates for me a few times and each time come back and said that there isn't any update yet so I don't know what to make of that other than I will probably craft my own solution so that I can do away with the wiring harness and where it is tapping power from. (Discussions in that Power Struggles topic thread and I just ordered the parts from Amazon - (46) Powering Accessories Struggles - Don't let this happen to you! | Page 8 | Tesla Cybertruck Forum - Cybertruck Owners Club ) My assumption is that Hansshow doesn't make this product or wiring harness and is reliant on some third party to do it, but that's just my assumption. Perhaps the numbers sold thus far haven't interested the 3rd party enough to issue a "fix" if they consider it "good enough", but again just speculation on my part. I wish I had better news.

That really sucks, Hansshow should take some responsibility here, regardless if they make the product or not, thats on them and we paid for their product. Them saying there is no update probably means there won't be any update. I finally got a response from someone at Hansshow myself to my handful of emails - I use the term "response" loosely here, it wasnt of any more help than what youve been getting. See below :

I'll let you know once we have the new wiring harness. Thank you, it will take some time.
Best wishes
