Ive driven several trips using 14.2.2.2 past few days. Truck has been brake stabbing on my everyday route to work where is has never done that before. It also brake stabbed in the same spot driving my wife’s model S. So it’s not just a CT problem, but Not good.

Second observation, took my truck on an 80 mile trip using the highway following a small snowstorm where the roads were covered with salt and slush. I could activate FSD, but the constant alerts about the cameras being covered was very annoying, and also in standard mode, the truck would get way too close to the vehicle in front of me. If the vehicle in front braked quickly, I’d be eating their bumper.
Disappointingly it was also extremely hesitant in changing lanes and would often not commit to the lane change after having the turn signal activated for 10-15 seconds.
Last observation was the truck attempted to back into a super charging station and was completely over the line and stopped 1/2 way into the spot. Ughh. What’s going on here? We need Improvements, not regressions.

An improvement in many many aspects.. however I do notice that it seems to tailgate more and change lanes to overtake at ‘the last minute’… which I hate

The only thing that stands out in my mind at the moment after a weekend 600+ mi round trip.

It also swerved out of the lane a couple times… but I will chalk that up to weather conditions and road markings.. (SoCal storm pushing thru and standing water which may have obscured the lines)

I also noticed it tailgates a lot more. I think tesla needs to slow down and do more QA. These regressions are getting frustrating

Additionally I question this concept of driver profiles. They seem to think they can simplify all drivers preferences through these profiles and I don’t think that’s possible. Especially when they behave wildly different between releases. Got in my hardware 3 car and forgot how nice it is to be able to set the max speed

I noticed 1) Tailgating more (<2 car lengths at 60 mph) which it creeped into (just slowly progressing until it was too close and I had to disengage). 2) Hesitant lane changes (lots of space to make the change, signalled for 10+ seconds, and then switched signal off). 3) Changing out of a clear lane to move into a "faster" lane just to tailgate someone who was going no faster. 4) Chill has become morbid (switched up to standard - which I don't normally do - just so I didn't look like a learner driver on city streets). Improvement score out of 10 --> minus 1.

I got the break stabbing once last night. I was really surprised as that hasn't happened in a long time.

I haven't had the brake stabbing (yet), but I have had it waggle out of the lane on the highway at 65 mph, just to avoid the squiggly repair of a crack on an asphalt highway. It seemed to follow the narrow strip of tar they use to fill the crack.

I also don't get why they are such sticklers for 'the NHTSA stop', and yet they violate so many other traffic rules. (speeding, left hand turns, lane changes in intersections, crossing solid lines...)

It's called a "NHTSA stop" because NHTSA compelled them to do it.

I like lane changing on 14.1.7 best. 14.2 was slower in lane changes but more refined overall. 14.2.1+ seems to make it worse.

Too much hesitation on 4 way streets, unprotected left, and lanes changes. Too aggressive in sudden braking when a car looks like it will come into lane. I see the situation much earlier and it used see it earlier as well.

It much worst in being proactive. Now is more reactive. It use to change lanes if sees a slower car early, now it waits until the end and have to brake, because cars are coming up on the left lane.

If a vehicle in front is only 1 mph slower, don't attempt over take on left lane with cars coming up faster. It needs to handle passing better, by speeding up and get pass. Also allow more space over the overtaken vehicle, a lot of times it wants to get back in front with not much space and its a semi going down hill.

14.1.7 drove like NYC drivers, 14.2+ is like retired Floridian.

overall its been great for me

had one major disengagement when it was trying to turn from a center lane. It wobbled the wheel then got halfway in the travel lane with a car coming and stopped. I had to take the wheel and move it. Person was pissed of course.

I got break stabbing as light turned yellow. It was close enough to go through but it stopped quick causing car behind me to brake a little harder too. Happened twice in same drive which I hadn't have happen previously. I will be so glad when it has foresight of route to see that a lane ends and to conservatively get in correct lane instead of riding lane to end.

The title and subtitle already show the writer is disingenuous…. tesla did sell him exactly that: FSD (Supervised). Did he think it meant that someone else would supervise FSD for him?!
