Do you think there will be an adapter or possibly that the Cybertruck will have 2 ports for charging in order to support a connection to the Megacharger?

The Megacharger sighted at Baker, California is quite interesting since the space it was installed in seemed like it was intended for smaller vehicles like the Cybertruck. Interestingly enough, CEO Elon Musk and Semi truck engineering executive Dan Priestley noted during the vehicle’s first delivery event last December that Tesla had developed a MW charger that could be used for both the Semi and the Cybertruck.

There will be a number of surprises/differences between the beta protos we’ve seen to date and the production vehicle.

So, it’s not impossible that we’ve not seen a 8-10” square charge port on the betas to date.

I'm just wondering what I'll be using to charge the CT with at home. I have two 240v 50amp circuits setup and I have two NEMA 14-50 outlets at my garage. Hopefully this will suffice.

Is this another standard we have to fight about later? Anyone know if vertical pins communicate data? Or transmit power?

This gives a better idea of the size compared to the other images, due to the camera lens or nothing else near to reference for scale:

So, about the size of a CCS port but closer to a square cross-section form factor.

Is this assumption incorrect? Smi has more batteries than CT so you can dump more power into the pack in one minute to reach individual cell limit. If CT does not have enough cells to take advantage, does it even make sense to put the female for mega Charger on it?

I strongly suspect it is a simple physical difference for increased capacity, backwards compatible with passive adapter.

I think the pictured megacharge connector was an old revision of CharIN's MCS that was used by Tesla temporarily. In the dusty cobwebs of my brain I remember reading something about Tesla retrofitting all the early stuff to MCS after it's finalized, but I don't have time to dig up the reference at the moment. I'll come back end edit if I find it.

The beauty of Teslas is that, with the appropriate mobile charger connector, you can plug into multiple sources (other than Superchargers). I frequently top off mine when I travel by plugging the mobile charger into a simple 110V outlet. The rate of charge will, of course, be impacted by the amperage supported by the plug, but if you have NEMA 14-50s you should be good to go.

If you have a mobile adapter that will work. Won't be the fastest but you'll be fine
