This gives a better idea of the size compared to the other images, due to the camera lens or nothing else near to reference for scale:

So, about the size of a CCS port but closer to a square cross-section form factor.

I think anybody ICEing a Megacharger to charge their Tesla, Rivian, or other smallish EV's might invoke the wrath of a semi-tractor EV. But then again, all that incoming amperage/wattage from that Megacharger just might blow the bottom off a normal EV battery-a self-correcting problem!

They need to change the law from being allowed to tow the vehicle to being allowed to deflate the tires until the tow truck has come.

Is this another standard we have to fight about later? Anyone know if vertical pins communicate data? Or transmit power?
Don't know for sure, but I doubt data would need so many pins (or so large!).

I don't think you can ICE with a Tesla

Well, maybe Rich Rebuilds lol

Is it ICEing if its being done by an EV?

Seems more like sipping a BEV.

I want one for Taj-Ma-Haul!

But seriously, I'm trying to plan out how to tap into Taj-Ma-Haul's 112kWatt/hr battery to charge the CyberTruck...

I can currently support 12kWatt/hr output.

I may upgrade a dedicated inverter for charging the CT, either 24 or 36kWatt/hrs. In the grand scheme of things, when charging from Taj-Ma-Haul, I'll be camped out in some wilderness and will have at least a day to charge it, but I can think of times where I'm traveling from Montana to Michigan and getting tired, pull over for food and a nap and let it charge if there isn't a Super Charger nearby and then 36kWatt/hrs would be nice, probably not necessary.

My main goal is to be 90% energy independent, using the SC network when necessary.

Since we like to name/rename things on this forum, I move that we rename this charger to BBC (Big Black Cable) so that we can distinguish it from the current charging cable. Do we have a second?

Your took the BBC right out of my mouth.

That's not a new charger.

This looks like someone playing with AI composting images or just plopping a retired Frito-Lay charger on the ground at another charger.

We have never seen a pedestal just sitting on the ground like this; the poses are all the same as prior shots of the MCS charger, only the background is different.
Well, it's not a fake. I was wrong. Here it is at Baker, in video.

But it is a copy of the prototype that Frito Lay is using.

So it must be for the Frito Lay trucks.

I think the pictured megacharge connector was an old revision of CharIN's MCS that was used by Tesla temporarily. In the dusty cobwebs of my brain I remember reading something about Tesla retrofitting all the early stuff to MCS after it's finalized, but I don't have time to dig up the reference at the moment. I'll come back end edit if I find it.
I think thought the one pictured (ref: "Out of spec reviews") was a CharIn standard, didn't hear him say it was old.

So hopefully no fight. Still I'm guessing CT would be NACS plug, with an adapter to use those MCS chargers? Maybe you won't get full semi levels of charge rate, but still compatible for at home chargers.

Not sure you'd need more than than a Gen 3 (or 4?) charge rate, since the larger battery would let them peak for longer if you're near empty (yes, I'm still hoping the 350 mile range at launch is a rumor).

Do you think there will be an adapter or possibly that the Cybertruck will have 2 ports for charging in order to support a connection to the Megacharger?

https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-megacharger-prompts-cybertruck-compatibility-speculations/

The Megacharger sighted at Baker, California is quite interesting since the space it was installed in seemed like it was intended for smaller vehicles like the Cybertruck. Interestingly enough, CEO Elon Musk and Semi truck engineering executive Dan Priestley noted during the vehicle’s first delivery event last December that Tesla had developed a MW charger that could be used for both the Semi and the Cybertruck.

I think the CyberTruck will just use the standard port and charge at 350kW (peak) at V4 SuperChargers. That is weird that they have a Megacharger in such a small space though. Where would the MW charging port even go on the CT?

The NACS port should be able to carry Megacharging rates, according to the Semi delivery event presentation.

The Megacharger in the picture is a testing one that Frito Lay has been using. That's not even the final connector that MCS is using.
