After a year of using a wrapped CT, I have a loaner from Tesla for a bit and I'm starting to remember why the " El naturel" version is better. So much easier to clean, no worry about scratches. I'm thinking about going back to it. Maybe just some stripes on the sides and frunk area. Or just have the top portion be black.

Anyone else?

I have PPF, no scratches and so easy to clean all I have to do is wait for it to rain to have a clean truck. A wrap is more prone to scratches and tears from rocks, but PPF is the way to go, no issues at all.

With the bare SS I had multiple cleaning issues and stains from hard water and bird droppings. Some of the stains lasted months and I had to try many cleaning products to deal with them.

I would never wrap a CT, its PPF or bare SS for me. The only exception is there are more colors available in wraps. So if you want something specific for a couple of years, go with a wrap.

I left mine bare steel for that same reason. Also: yes the windows broke, but it was the repeated blows with the sledgehammer in rehearsal and on stage to the door that created the microfractures that eventually caused the steel ball failure…..the door panel stayed clean and unscathed throughout.

I used the “savings” from not getting the CT wrapped to justify all the random stuff I bought after haha.

random but related question: is “once wrapped, always has to be wrapped” a thing or can you go back and forth with no issue?

That's been my perspective all along. Why wrap something super-durable with a less durable material? It seems like a real Sisyphus move:

man, having being used to washing conventional cars with paint -- having to clay bar and degrease, and wax and ceramic coat.. to keep the paint shining and such... now all i have to do is wash and dry. I use a leaf blower and after that, wipe down some spots and im done. when i washed my CT for the first time, i was still stuck in muscle memory and was about to put a ceramic coat on when realized i no longer need that.

so plus 1 for bare naked ladies steel...

PPF is the way for sure, I really didn’t know much about PPF vs. Vinyl wraps before getting it done.

My frunk is PPF on top of the vinyl, makes it so much more durable. Scratches just disappear with a heat gun.

I prefer raw stainless because it's the most rugged. To me it's a truck and family hauler. Mine has fingerprints on the doors, dings on the back bumper from towing, scratches in the bed from hauling, and that's just fine.

I went back and forth on getting a red PPF wrap done on my CT for the first 3 months after I got it in May 2024. It would have been beautiful, but I'm glad I waffled on the decision, the stainless steel look really grew on me, and the upkeep is so dead simple.

I've seen some great wraps, really glad to see people make the truck their own in some super creative ways - I focused on the interior and accessories for that, there's so much fun stuff out there to scratch my customization itch.

I do confess to considering getting it polished every couple of months or so, mirrored Cybertrucks are the bomb. Maybe one day

I spent my wrap budget on accessories too…I’m currently way over budget on accessories now, with even more in the works! 🤣

Clear Matte PPF, DIY from Tesbros. All in less than 2k. Easy to clean, stays true to the look, only better.

I went to XPEL stealth wrap for my CTB; however, after having it on for year and half I have decided to change it up a with TMAXX psychedelic black. Nothing against the raw steel. Actually love it still just want something different. I’m planning to keep my CTB for a while. So getting the new wrap make seem like I’m getting a new CT.

El naturel! No wraps in these woods! No scratches, no brush marks. Far better than PPF or paint if you are driving off road or in the brush.

I couldn't bring my self to do a wrap. PPF or Vinyl... they are both wraps, btw. But, I thought I'd just put up with fingerprints until it drove me crazy. Funny thing though. There are no fingerprints. Maybe I open my door differently and maybe my family is just careful. I've never got onto them about fingerprints. But, I've got none and I like the stainless look. Plus, I NEVER worry about door dings in parking lots. So, no wrap for me.

Having lived in some windy/cold places, I still find myself thinking "Which way is the wind blowing and will it catch their door and blow it into my truck?"

I've been going back and forth on wrapping mine but everytime I walk out and see the stainless I can't help but smile. It is a unique finish that looks even better when dirty. I'm toying with the idea of some sort of design to compliment rather than cover/replace.
