I totally agree with going all natural. One of the big things that attracted me to the Cybertruck was the fact that it's low-maintenance stainless steel.

I avoid hand washing at all costs. With all the different polishes and cleaners out there, it's easy to get a very uneven finish by hand. As I've said several times, just find an automatic car wash that uses brushes—it keeps a very uniform, brush-like finish, just like it came new. My BEAST has been through the wash-and-wax automatic car wash probably close to 100 times since I got it in 9/2024. It still looks like new, even sitting outside—maybe even better than new because the finish is so uniform now. I have an unlimited membership, so anytime I drive by, I take it through… It gets waxed with GRAPHENE every time too. You may have to hunt around to find an automatic car wash that will take the Cybertruck—some refuse, fearing they might get sued for scratching it.

Wrapping /ppf will introduce a whole new level of maintenance and time at washes I'd rather skip. I've been taking mine through the local membership automatic wash since I got it in June with no issues.

What additional maintenance are you thinking? Nothing sticks to PPF including finger prints.

After a year of using a wrapped CT, I have a loaner from Tesla for a bit and I'm starting to remember why the " El naturel" version is better. So much easier to clean, no worry about scratches. I'm thinking about going back to it. Maybe just some stripes on the sides and frunk area. Or just have the top portion be black.

Anyone else?
I was told by a guy that installs wraps that the wraps only last about 7 years.

Paint needs PPF. I have full PPF on my other cars that have paint. I like it because it allows me to keep them longer than I would normally. Purely on looks. My PPF painted cars look new even with hundreds of thousands of miles. Makes me forget about crappy paint and the rocks and crap.

Stainless needs PPF if ya hang around streets and malls and care about how ya hair looks like in the window as ya get out.

Naked Stainless needs nothing other than a brushed carwash as often as one likes it clean. I find that a power wash by wand only never gets it good. I don't give a rats tail about brush strokes. It would take 3 million washes to even make a difference in the steel.

PPF and plain vinyl are very different. There is no additional maintenance with PPF.

I dont understand how everyone considers the SS so easy 🤷‍♂️ . For me I was dealing with the follow issues above just a standard painted vehicle, that a car wash wouldn't fix:

* Bird poop stains
* Hard water stains
* Finger prints
* Adhesives from decorations leaving hard to remove marks
* Inconsistent panel finishes
* Using a polish to remove stains leaves the panels different colors(blue tint vs yellow tint) for months till the patina returns.

Only 7 years? :ROFLMAO: Sure thats not a lot of time if you are Nosferatu, but for us humans thats longer than most of us own a single vehicle.

1st one means car is sitting vs. being used
2nd one I don't understand unless one cares.
3rd. Really. Must own a fridge that they care about just as much
4th. Why y'all putting stickers on ya thing? Got to tell all the world something they don't care about but you do?

That's been my perspective all along. Why wrap something super-durable with a less durable material? It seems like a real Sisyphus move:

The best part is no part, the most foolproof coating is no coating.
You nailed it. A PPF has a place but this truck gives a new meaning to tough truck. Probably nobody tests the durability of the CT like @HaulingAss.

PPF needs/benefits from ceramic coating, requires hand washes to last. Granted my truck is not perfectly clean after a go through the auto wash, and it has some contaminant spots here and there but I also don't care. I treat it like a tank. 😁

You can blue the steel if you want it ratty dark…or polish it or electroplate it…

I’ve kept mine naked. I drive in brush frequently, so scratches are part of my routine…I’ve tried oil, silicone, and wax for fingerprint resistance and wax seems to last longer than silicone. But nothing lasts more than a few months in AZ sun. Right now I’m working on dirty patina to hide finger prints :)

Wife says, "It looks like an appliance!" I say, "Yup"
I hope she recognizes that it's a very cool appliance! No refrigerator or dishwasher can even begin to compare. The similarity ends at the color of the metal.

She does now. She really didn't like it at first and tried to discourage me from buying it. However, she has warmed up to it and even sings its praises to her friends. Comments on the comfort, utility, and she even thinks FSD is cool (which is surprising because she won't even use cruise control on her S). Still thinks it's ugly.
