Consider taking your phone if you step out of your truck. I was at a boat ramp Saturday, got out of the truck to chat with someone. I had my windows down and phone in the truck.

After a minute or so I heard my lock sound and my windows went up. I guess the Bluetooth disconnected. Truck was I the middle of the lot and in the way.

I do keep a key in my wallet, which was in the truck.

After 20 minutes or so I tracked down my son who is an additional driver. He unlocked truck from 1200 miles away.
How did you contact your son since your phone was inside the truck?

I walked to the home I was staying in. Which is close to the boat ramp. My corporate phone was there. Normally having 2 phones is a pain in the neck. In this case it was very helpful.

I was having beers at my buddies and we were watching a few videos off my phone. I noticed the phone was at 20% but didnt think much of it. Later as I was getting ready to go I put the dog in the truck and my phone in the charger spot and shut the doors. As we were chatting I heard the lock sound and instantly knew the truck had locked my out. Odd thing was the phone was in the charging cradle 🤷‍♂️
Extra key card is always in the glove compartment in case of valet or needing to lend it to a friend or something. Taxi ride home to get the back up key and lesson learned hehe

Tesla should put facial recognition on the driver side pillar camera
You mean like in Elon Musk's tweet on July 15, 2021:

"No door handles. Car recognizes you & opens door."

Of course it was supposed to tow 15,000 lbs, have a range 0f 500 miles and cost $80k 🤷

I wallet the keycard for emergencies and/or valet parking, but when the CT was getting service I was driving a loaner Model S. While I was out shopping I noticed my phone was almost dead, and thought "good thing I have that keycard".

And then I remembered... the keycard isn't paired to the loaner, and I'd be stranded if my phone died. I legged it back to my parking spot with 1% to spare :ROFLMAO:

Not to start a religious war.. but I've never understood the "I leave my wallet in the car" types... like.. my life is in the wallet, it never leaves my pocket. These days, I'm just as paranoid about my phone to be honest...
Agree: I carry 2 wallets...the modern age!

What ring tech are you using?
it’s just a white ceramic ring I got off a random website. Had a jeweler tell me the size of my index finger and ware it there. Think I paid 100$ for it back in 2022. You just do the add key function in the car and pair the new key pretty easy. Works with multiple cars too so that was nice.
