Speed limit and FSD?

I'm struggling to get the truck to even do the speed limit. I have tried both the manual offset and the auto FSD. On my plaid FSD is great at going the "appropriate" speed. On the truck I feel like I have to stay on the accelerate a lot of the time.

Every once in a while my CT won’t speed up to the limit but it seems if I give it some pedal it then stays there. I often drives with FSD with my foot on the pedal though. Who drives the speed limit ?

On my M3 I was able to use the right scroll wheel to speed up and down..but not with the CT. Am I missing something?

newest FSD v12.5.5.2 takes away that option to adjust max speed.

personally it sucks.

not to mention they took away the “minimal Lane change”.

It your foot is on the pedal, you're overriding the safety and FSD. Only use it to get to the appropriate speed and remember to leave a voice note at the behavior.

Will its definitely not safe for the truck to constantly slow down to 10 or 15 mph below the speed limit when everyone else is going 10 to 15 mph over the speed limit.

This is definitely a CT thing.

newest FSD v12.5.5.2 takes away that option to adjust max speed.

I can adjust the max speed just fine. You probably need to disable "Automatic Set Speed Offset".

That said, FSD often takes its sweet time getting up to speed. Usually I can manually accelerate to the limit, and it will maintain it.

No. The steering still works in FSD even if you are adding some speed with the peddle by foot. Yes it does say a warning that breaking will not work while you’re peddling it . If I’m driving down the freeway or open road with no one on it and the speed is 55 or 35 and I want to go 70 or 45 but use FSD it’s what I do also when Lethe speed limit changes from 35 to 55 and I don’t want to wait for it to accelerate I help it get there faster , it’s perfectly safe. I

Not just a CT thing. Happening on many Tesla's depending on their firmware version.

It is *awful* on my '17 TMX. Many complains on TMC and socials about this speed control feature even when NOT using the 'Automatic Set Speed Offset' new features.

So, not 'no': 'yes'. When you're pressing the accelerator you're overriding its speed. If it needs to slow down for a turn or reaction, it will miss if it you're hitting the accelerator.

Just be aware of this fact.

Obviously it’s telling you “breaking is override when foot on the peddle” because it can’t break if your foot is on the peddle. It’s normal driving common sense. Clearly if you are adding acceleration there is no one in front of you , I’m not on FSD going 150 peddling . We are talking 10/15 miles over ! Trust me when I say I rarely use FSD in Los Angeles because you always need to have your head on a swivel here with 5 lane freeways and Everyone’s on there phone ! I’m also not on fsd in the hills of Montana road giving it peddle

Seems like LA is where you need FSD. And you don't need the pedal in Montana.

Either way, my note is still true and important: Pedal overrides safety braking and may make it overestimate turns.

I've had mixed experiences.. It likes to do 35 in 40 zones, sometimes going up to 39. Then on PCH is where it gets weird. In a 40 stretch it'll do 45, it gets to a 35 zone still saying it's 40 limit and then quickly drops to say that it's a 25 limit zone when it's actually 35 and yet will still go almost 40... It sucks at left turns, always cutting the divider line, and it's aggressive with braking and take offs at green lights.

Oh and quick note: I just started using the safety score out of curiosity and it will lower your score for nighttime driving and "Aggressive turning". Both seem like bs to me since I don't have a choice working on night shift, even on first shift I get to work at 2:30am.. I work at spaceX and my boss's car company is penalizing me for going to work... As for the aggressive turning, there's a spot I do a very sharp but totally safe U-turn in an empty parking lot just before getting home and that has had aa negative 11% affect to my score... also seems like bs to me. Disengaging FSD is also a category the safety score reflects negatively as well.

Yeah, there's a bunch of those facets California bans them from using. Unfortunately time of day isn't one of them.

In my area, there's a bunch of exit lanes which pitch up and away from the freeway sharply after a down hill and those inertial sensors just don't understand at all. The hill is supposed to slow you down! It just makes it feel sharper than it is.
