a more aerodynamic setup would be 2 rev tents in the bed and a rack for mounting one to the roof. You'd probably improve efficiency quite a bit taking the tent off the roof and also losing a few hundred pounds of weight. Rev tents take a bit more time to setup but I think it's worth it for EV drivers as trade off to maximize range.

Awesome idea! I’m planning to go camping on the new CT and planning to sleep 4. With the cyber tent out of stock I’m looking for ideas. Aerodynamics concern me with anything on the roof.
When you say 2 rev tens in the truck bed, I assume one rev tent could go on the truck bed, but where would the second one go? Is it on some sort of raised platform on the bed? Or did you mean to say that second rev tent is on the roof ?

Yeah I meant you still need some kind of level roof rack but you can transport the tents in the bed and move them to the roof and bed for sleeping. They have a factory folding rack for the tent but since the CT doesn’t have level cross bars you would need something like what the OP had to mount the rack on. Last year I transported 2 rev tents vertically in the bed and managed quite a bit of additional gear (and 3 bikes) in a R1T and just threw one tent on the ground. It’s nice to have the flexibility of throwing the tent anywhere especially to optimize for weather or views and they are super light and pretty easy to setup. Oh and you don’t have to schlep 150+ lb on and off the vehicle. That’s probably the best thing about these tents. I have a “light” RTT leaning against a wall collecting black widows because the rev tents are just so much easier to use with a truck.

I have an aircruiser tent as well, and was looking for a way to install it in the vault and have it elevated above the vault sides once camped. I don't think the L track can ultimately support the weight, and certainly not with people inside the tent.

For me, yes. I don't like sleep on top of ground. The other reason is the ground is uneven. Cybertruck has Cyber Tent mode. Which can do leveling. Sleeping quality is better than on top of ground.

Sweet setup. Have you checked the Wh/mi with the rack and tent?

Without rack and tent. I run 400 Wh/mi.
With rack and tent is about 480 Wh/mi

I know this is an older thread, but I’m trying to figure out how to camp with my family of 4. Do you just have the front Mars rack so that you can use the cyber tent in the bed?
I’d like to retain some bed storage. Has anyone done a platform like the cyber tent using the L track or some kind of brackets and then just put a Rev or similar on it?

want to fit 2 adults and 2 kids in 2 tents, preferably retaining some vault storage.

Also can I see more pictures of just the RTT closed up on the rack without the tent open?

1. Yes. In this setup. I use MarsAG front rack only. Then Cynertent still can set up.
2. No. There is no other RTT like Cybertent mount on L-track. I tried use MarsAG truck bed mount. But the Air Cruiser is too thick. The tonneau cover cannot close..
