Had a great time going off roading today. Some trail rash on the stainless steel. very fine scratches similar to a car with paint. Any tips to remove them would be appreciated. If nothing can be done it’s a badge of honor.

Little video to show some of the fun.

bar keepers friend and a buffer. Not the high speed buffer, a small 6" bonnet dual action. then wash it or use spray away. it will be like new.

Since it's a sanded finish, does a buffer work? I have them from washing it?

So the prediction that the super-hard stainless would be immune from trail rash turns out not so much? Kind of disappointing.

It might just be more of a residue deposit of material rubbed from the branches onto the stainless. A lot of the visible "scratches" might just disappear after a goodwash with a scrub brush.

If it is scratched into the texture of the metal, my experience with stainless kitchen appliances and a whole lot of extruded aluminum parts is that you can rub out the scratches by buffing linearly (by hand) along the grain with suitable abrasive. But its near impossible to duplicate the exact factory grain/texture so as to make new texture not look "different". You end up having to do the whole panel at a minimum.

Or you could put a wrap over it.

Good thing you weren't driving a painted truck. Here is the link to Tesla service on how to fix scratches on the CT. There is a right way to follow for best results.
