It's been proven to be the case that he has at best massively exaggerated the claimed savings. Some would call that lying. Of course you won't read those sources, just as you won't see this post.

Honestly, the 1st bothers me more. I may not personally understand the reasoning or the value behind the 2nd, but I expect accuracy from an auditor. DOGE came in way too fast and loose. It could have done a lot more good and avoided much of the political backlash if it produced verifiable savings.

Two things can be bad at the same time but the comic book has no tangible negative effect on anyone while Elon's slash and burn cutting is harming US citizens including veterans and farmers while at the same time failing to produce real savings contrary to Elon's lies. Plus the new budget increases spending significantly. DOGE is a distraction so they can keep ripping off the public and you've been fooled as intended.
