My range is disappearing. At 80% I used to have 254 miles. Now I am only getting 241. Trying to post a video of my phone showing 80% and 241 but that ain't workin'.
Has anyone checked the range at 80% I just turned 43,000 miles.
range degradation is time based not miles
expected and all NCM EVs experience the same of below
after 12 months -4%
after 24 months -1.8 + the already -4.0 total -5.8%
then additional -1.8% after each 12 months on going
totally normal

do the math, how old is your CT?

also, charge to aleast 100% and immediately drive once a month
this allows the BMS to recalc your capacity and range

I have that as a reoccuring event in my cal, rebalance the pack
good luck

16 months tomorrow so that would be 4.9%?
I did the math so that would be 12 mi and it would be 241 on the head! That's good news

Have about 2% degradation at 90% SOC.
Yet at 50% SOC it is about 3%. Where it stays as a SOC most of the time.

After a couple trip charges it bounces back to the 2%.

@30k in miles. My other Tesla's are high miles. I never worry about the SOC if it fits my needs for the use. Yet when not needed I don't sit on high SOC. I also have the benefit of other EV's to call upon in need.

Enjoy EVing

with NCM, the first year is the biggest drop and then just 1.8% their after
after 10 years, -20.2% or better way to see, a CT after 10 years is 256 miles of range
or better, this is the average drop
20 years 201 miles of range

Both have an impact… and for calendar aging, what SoC the truck is maintained at has a huge impact (and the exact chemistry matters a lot too… the 955 chemistry really prefers lower SoC where 721 or 622 doesn’t care much as long as it’s below 90%). With this chemistry, if maintained at 50% you’re not going to get more than 1-2% in the first year. At 80% you’ll be around the 4-5% range. At 100% you might see 10%.

On the BMS you don’t need to charge to 100% to get it to recalculate on NMC. There is plenty of voltage variation to get an accurate calculation. A simple 10-80% charge can get it very close. A 100% charge tends to be more destructive than good with the real benefit being top balancing of the cells (and that happens above 92-93% anyway). A 100% charge occasionally isn’t going to kill anything, but routinely doing it for BMS’ sake isn’t really a good idea for prolonged battery life.

All that said, odds of getting below 70% in the warranty period is unlikely, even if treated poorly. If it happens, IMO not really a bad thing to get a refurbished battery prior to it being a big ticket repair.

I'm just over 12k and over a year, I'm down from 253 @80% to 248

How you compute your 100pct range? Using value at 80pct, tap for miles etc? Thats not very accurate. Better is to reset your trip computer, do 500miles or so then use: (total miles driven/energy used) * batt capacity (which is 123kwh) to give you a practical 100pct full range _with your driving style and environment_

My pct, tap mi method never gives me much better than 293mi/100pct but actual driven distance method is closer to 310mi/100 for me

The mileage estimate will never give you an accurate or complete picture. Just switch to percentage and don't worry about it.

This is the way. I drove myself nuts the first couple months in my M3, constantly worrying "where my miles went". Truly consider it a giant cellphone. Put it on % remaining, and charge it when you can.

Wayyyy to many variables that go into how many miles per KW and all that, from the outside temp, to your driving style that day.. just... drive it and enjoy.

Cell life is measured in charge cycles, not years. Calendar aging has an effect, but not as much as driving 43k miles in 16 months. Also, no need to charge Cybertruck to 100%, ever. As long as it's charged high enough for cell balancing to take place (80% I believe, but 90% for sure) then the BMS should be accurate. My Model X at 8yrs old and 55k miles still retained 94% of original capacity. Model 3 at 6 yrs old and 35k miles was 96% of original. My truck, at 16 months and 12k miles is at 98%.
