Im sure at least part of the reason is regulation around colors/flashing of certain external lighting components. Same as why some things are only available in park, like “megaphone” and theater mode…another may just be software oversight and no directive to make a specific thing active, like the noticeable absence of “load mode” for suspension.

Correct, you get special controls for the OEM light bar if you have it and it only uses the lateral ditch lights in this application.

BUT, you still have the “signature light bar” DTRL and you can get that two headlight effect. The center is not lit in this photograph; it’s just appears to be dimly glowing because of the laterals.

Camping last summer with the Cybertent, I regularly used the lowest light setting for the rear at night. Since it is the red taillights, it illuminates where you are getting in the tent without effecting your night vision and it doesn’t attract many bugs.

IF the programming can happen for the two headlight effect for the light bar, can we request "Zombie mode" for the light bar and have the bar show red lights with the two headlight effect and disable the feature that automatically slams the brakes when a pedestrian walks in front of the CT?
For those times when a zombie apocalypse, or a protest, happens around your CT and you need to leave in a hurry. THe "red lights' would be the warning.

Maybe a wink with brights flash or dashcam press? Everyone in here is always looking for that perfect CT wave.
I used to do a one headlight wink at other Miata’s all the time back in the day.

You know, some strategically placed stickers could make for some cool pupils on there when that mode is engaged.

Now we definitely need "wink" mode when FSD detects oncoming Cybertrucks.
