I haven’t read anywhere what the frunk power feed is for. Unlike the roof power feed which is for the light bar.

Is there any first party accessory from Tesla that’s planned for the frunk power feed?

Does anyone have any ideas for how to use it?

Some ideas I have:
- An integrated fridge & freezer combo. Possibly a molded unit that replaces the frunk lining for optimal storage space. Would be great for camping and/or tailgating
- A retractable standing desk set up with monitor mount(s), power supply, and Starlink satellite mount. Could make use of the existing attachment points that the frunk netting uses But would need some sort for customization to allow power feed to reach outside of the lining (drill a hole or even make a custom outlet). Would be great for job sites or even camping if you’re wanting to work from the campsite.

Thoughts?

400 watts is not enough for a typical winch. So if there was something intended, it would likely be additional lighting.

I soldered in a cable with an XT90 connector and use it for charging a Bluetti solar generator (battery) that I then use to power different accessories. My main use is for a mini-fridge/freezer. For long road trips and for hunting expeditions I power the fridge off the Bluetti as it will continue running even more than 12 hours if I’ve shut the CT off. For shorter periods I tie the fridge direct ly to the 48v feed using a 360 watt48-12v buck converter.
Nothing beats chilled water, fresh food, and fresh fruit (and heated seats!) when you are out in the bush/wilds or road tripping.

Plug to battery to step down to winch and other accessories.

I'm planning for LiFePo 12V*100Ah to run goodies.

I anticipate we will see 48V goodies coming to market over the coming years.

They hit 25A or so peak, which at 48V is 1200 watts, way over 400.

I suppose if you put all that stuff in the frunk, and used the 48V feed to charge the extra 48V battery, you could make it work, if you had something that switched out the 48V feed when the winch turned on, to keep from overloading the 48V feed.

Wouldn't be much room left in the frunk with all that in there. :)

Precisely, I would set it up to toggle charging the 48v aux power.
