They said it was worth more, you only quoted what they were arguing against.In the 5 months I have owned my FSCB I have saved over $1400 charging costs. Quick math, 1400x 2=$ 2,800 a year I’m saving with free supercharging. Worth way more than the $5k you mentioned.
I am going to agree with this. I have overcapacity solar and unlimited supercharging so I don't really care, but in MA, electricity is .37/ kwh so supercharging at .30 and .35 is cheaper than home.
Furthermore, any decent Ice vehicle will be cheaper in the same class EV, and a hybrid will be way cheaper.
Let's see what people feel like in a few years when electricity is twice as expensive and gas is the same.
BTW, that 30% tax credit on solar goes away at the end of this year, so it's a good time to get solar if you were ever considering it
If you supercharge exclusively, it can cost you more than gas. But like you said, that's the cost for 100 miles out of all you've driven, the rest at a far lower cost.
One ton trucks don’t get 20mpg , you pay for what you get, loading, towing and acceleration. As you stated even for a joy ride there was more joy
More and more hotels /chains are starting to require additional payment for use. Which is understandable because it is an additional cost for the property. I made a reservation at a Hilton outside Little Rock b It said it had EV charging, but when I got there it was a local charger that was some $0.50/ kW. Thankfully the hotel allowed me to cancel my reservation.
I drove everywhere when I had free supercharging for the first 6mo. I believe I put on some 25,000 miles to get my money’s worth. Haha600 miles in and I’ve already saved a $120ish. I’m not complaining.
