Exactly. Ford was trying to convert die-hard traditional truck owners to electric. That plan was a failure from the get-go (those customers are clearly afraid of anything different or new). Ford half-assed it like they did with all their other electric conversions. The Lightning was the worst of all worlds.

The Cybertruck is in a segment all by itself. It will either be a big success or a big failure, but unlike the Lightning, it isn’t guaranteed to be a failure from the start.

Excellent question. My guess is that John Travolta knew the future and it was a premonition that the Lightning was going to fail and he had to make a musical about it.

Judging from how Ford justified greasing the Lightning, over priced EV Trucks will be more likely to be on the chopping block; Chevy Silverado EV and her lip-sticked twin, GMC Sierra EV. Although Hummer SUT might make a surprised guest appearance. Same goes with R1T. All of them are being sold at a sizable loss (guesstimates $7k - $15/EV truck)
