this is trailer configuration/identification screen, no? in other words, your buddy has entered into the UI that the trailer weighs 13K, and it's then telling him the relevant/resulting stats

every truck that is rated to tow X, can tow a good deal more than X

it's just that a person is doing so against the safety recommendations of the SAE guidelines. it's not that X is the max the vehicle can move, it's that the X is the max the vehicle can safely operate at under various conditions.

put differently, your buddy may move 13K trailers just fine, unless/until someone cuts him off, he swerves at the wrong time, wrong speed, and wrong downhill grade, etc.

in this way, the CT will tow just as much as the Rivian, I'd expect :ROFLMAO:

Ahh, but look at the range. 115 Mile range is pitiful. You need at least over 200+.

Probably going to need a 250 kwh battery for that. Range is going to be half no matter who makes the tow vehicle. Think of it as two vehicles with one battery.

and *that* is the distinction between ā€˜pull’ and ā€˜tow’

the lightning can (and has) ā€˜pulled’ a 1,000,000 pound train

but you wouldn’t want to try and switch lanes or stop quickly

You're towing a small house. You're not going to get great range.

You only need enough range to do the job, get to the next charger, tho.

Always be charging.
