Yeah…. I’d buy a limited “as promised edition”, 400 plus mile range, 6 seats and tailgate ramp.
I’d pay as much as whatever the base price of the AWD is plus what they said the RWD would cost.
Realistically though, slap a luxe package on it and sell it alongside the beast for the same price.
I’d take that over a Tri-motor any day of the week.

I heard some Beast owners saying AWD is better anyway…

I traded in my Model S Plaid towards a FS AWD, prefer RWD acceleration and handling bias, lighter weight, longer range and a lockable diff in a truck vs a slightly faster 0-60. Either would be slower coming from the S Plaid and a 0-60 in the high 3’s is quick enough for street use in a pickup truck IMHO.

….but that Alcantara dash…
The 1) lockable differentials and 2) longer range were the deciding factors for me too.

The Cyberbeast's "virtual rear locking differentials + Rear torque vectoring" may be just as good or better, but I couldn't test drive that component by e.g. getting stuck in snow or mud and testing. I understand and need physical locking differentials quite often, so I went with what I know.

I also live so remote that I want as much range as I can get to feel safe. I have 410 miles with the Rivian and will have 325 miles (max I could get) with the AWD.

AWD does have higher payload and longer range than Beast...
To me the 230 lbs. less weight of the Dual Motor is more important than the small range difference of about 20 miles. I like heavy things when they are stationary objects, but for anything that regularly moves, light is right.

I love the way my Cybertruck feels and drives on trails and rugged FS roads. The frame is stiff and light and the suspension is plush but not mushy, it's a good combo for control and precision.

Looks like I am a bit late to respond, however wanted to chime-in with my story of buying a 2018 MX new with free SC and no thoughts of towing, ever. 7 years later I have 197k miles total with 60k of that towing a small Airstream. The only reason I haven't purchased a CT yet (ordered on the reveal day) is waiting for better range a.c.t. the MX. Enjoy!!

Those are just the cocky, stuck-up beast owners. @That Beast Mode and I love you.
We dont care how many motors anyone has, we're all part of the same family. I only got the beast because its the first new car I've ever bought for myself in my life, I really, really wanted it. I told my wife im going all out - if they ask me do you want to add : yes is my answer before they finish the sentence. Do I regret it, no, do I need a beast, no, would i do it again, yes (luxe package only).

When ordering the FS AWD in December of 23, I was torn. I even made a post about it way back when on this forum, asking what others were thinking. At the time, none of us had our trucks yet. It was all hypothetical. Looking at the commonalities between to two, I could not justify the extra $20k (even though I could afford it) for something as trivial as a 1 sec difference 0-60 and some alcantara suede dash. Some people prioritize that acceleration. And that’s fine. I just don’t see it. I very rarely punch the pedal anymore. Sure, in the beginning it was fun, but daily driving is not about how fast I can leave Grandma in my dust at the stoplight. Plus it’s a truck. As @carsly mentioned, if I wanted the fastest thing on the road, I would just jump in my wife’s Model S. That’s not why I bought a truck. I needed and regularly use the 6 foot bed and the ground clearance. And the RWD bias made more sense to me, coming from the RAM it replaced

See I will disagree - it is always, always about how fast you can leave grandma in the dust. Grandma needs to recognize.
