I wonder when that actually starts...It says now for 9:28 PM yesterday, but I was at a V4 stall today and hit like 226kW at 8%.

I have 19 V4 chargers within a 1 hour radius (SF Bay Area). The nice thing is I can make it to the eastern side of the state Reno/Tahoe using V4 and I can make it to the southern border using V4.

What they need to work on is the charging curve, because when I charged in Lebec, CA beginning at 8% at 60F fully pre-conditioned, I hit 322kW for 18% to 19%. I was above 300kW for 3% of the time. The previous time before that I topped out at 301kW for from 8% to 13%.

They are super cautious with charge curves. We need more Cybertrucks on the road in order to get the real world data needed to make safe changes.

much needed ramp up. Was on my first trip and discovered that charging is not fun nor cheap. 250 kwh stations are rare. 30-60 mins charge time is no go. also prices are now 3x vs last charge 5 yrs ago lol. Hope v4 will reduce Time + Costs. otherwise, my 2 doors ICE would be better for winter long distance!

Comparing a big EV truck to a 2 door ICE is crazy to me.

No I understand it’s a truck and should cost more. Given equal costs, the charging time is a dealbreaker. I can’t afford to lose that much time traveling for work in the morning. Tight schedule.

Show me any EV that charges faster than it takes to fill up a two door ICE car.

I do believe they are cautious. I do not believe they need more data. If you look at the other Tesla models (Y & 3), they have the data and the charging curve has not changed much. If you compare it to other EV providers, they are able to charge at higher speeds for a longer period of time. So I don't think it is a data issue, it is an engineering issue.

Hyundai, Lucid, Porsches and Kia all charge faster than the #1 EV company in the US.

Tesla is more cautious about battery health than other manufacturers, because the others simply don't understand (or care) about it. The stealership model of legacy auto is to rapidly manufacture as cheaply as possible, and hope people don't notice how much they are spending on repair and replacement.

The data Tesla gleans from the charge curves takes a while because they need several seasons to compare how heat is affecting longevity. If your data set on longevity is only 1 year old, then it's not enough to make a call on the projected condition of the battery 10 years from now.
