We do not know what future updates will look like. I have no reason to believe Tesla would leave them so comparable with the only difference been some additional speed. The Tri Motor is sure to get some nice tricks.

I'd rather they not build it either, and they very well may drop them altogether since the dual/tri motors are so popular.

I would rather them stay more exclusive to the higher end range of the Tesla lineup. A single motor version would be like selling a 4cylinder shit box variant of a Raptor... Not a good look for the brand
A single motor Cybertruck would be a real durable workhorse at a budget friendly price. The traction and driving dynamics would put RWD ICE pickups to shame. Value matters in the trucks that get used hard in daily business.

I let a friend of mine drive my Dual Motor Cybertruck today. His eyes got big after he floored it briefly. He let off after about a second of flooring it, otherwise we would have been going a highly illegal speed. He said something like he had heard Cybertrucks were fast, but the power surprised him. I told him I didn't get the fast one. His eyes got big again and he said, "You mean they make a faster one?"

Ha-ha.

Beast with range extender gets a acceleration boost ?

Let's all agree that the single motor guys aren't allowed. AWD is fine but single motor people should be confined to the corner of the forum and their posts hidden from public view
A topic for a different thread... but Beast > RWD > AWD. Assuming everything else stays the same on the CT besides the motors, the RWD will be such a great value it becomes the second best trim. No different than with the Lightning where the Pro was arguably the best trim of the truck, not because of what it does, but because it did it for under $50k.

Anything in the bed must be very secured if you accelerate, or it will smack the back tailgate so hard it will do potential damage. So if you carry loose stuff in the back the beast is not going to be used for high acceleration. AWD is pretty much the perfect vehicle, unless you simply want the extra acceleration.

Exact experience, except Ducati Monster versus R1. My buddy drives R1. He is invincible, although R1 could be a death sentence. CT saves the day for me.

Once you step on a vehicle that does 0-60 under 3 secs, you won’t go back to anything else. <3 secs vs 4.1 secs might appear very marginal, but the experience is exponentially different!
Own a KTM1390 Super Duke R Evo (known as the beast due to 190hp/107ft lbs out of a V2, 0-60 2.6) - actually put a Cerebus sticker like the CB on it - so they're twins! Also Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory (177hp/93ft lbs, 0-60 3.0), Indian Challenger (122/128, 0-60 3.3), Stark Varg (80hp dirt bike - also beast sticker since most powerful dirtbike), MB GLE AMG53 (wife's car 429hp is enough the way she drives)...and a 2020 M3P (3.1) - moral of the story, except for wife's car and my diesel truck all are low 3's 0-60 or less.....so for me, the beast is a must / no brainer....it's actually faster than all the above except the SuperDuke (if I launch well and not in CO at altitude).

I think some of the AWD guys here are not realizing it's not just about the 0-60 times of the Beast, it's every day driving.

The low end torque at part throttle is massively different... It's so much more powerful at even normal every day driving... Not just when launching or full throttle acceleration. It's the difference between the low end torque of a Diesel or a regular V6 when just getting up to speed.

The Tri-motor drivetrain is amazing

Wow! I have nothing but mad respect for you. Ride/drive safe brother. I’m so glad you are living your dreams. I’m sure these incredible vehicles put a smile on your face every time you ride them. ?

I think the general consensus is as follows:
AWD: Get it sooner, mechanical lockers in front and rear (AWD) are better than mechanical front, software rear (Beast), a little more range.
Beast: Go faster quicker, Alcantara on dash, Beast badging, 4k allowance for V2H installation, light bar.
The 4k allowance for V2H installation is apparently disappearing in favor of a $2500 voucher for all Foundation series (AWD and Beast). So no more difference on that front (which to me never made sense, since the Foundation series 'option' has the same price for both trims).

I admit, they are all smile generators! Definitely smarter / safer things to spend money on but real estate is paid for, yolo and stressful CIO job and this is my outlet (im 53, I push it but only when quasi responsible or on a track - although nothing like the CO mountains at 7am (no traffic) to test speed/handling!

I mostly keep the AWD in Chill because it's way too enthusiastic for a heavy truck in Sport if you don't want to have constant focus on control. The CB acceleration would be silly for daily use and not worth the trouble or money unless that's specifically what you are into, just like those who garage ultra high-performance sports cars. People are welcome to their expensive hobbies, including Monster Trucks. ?

So I’ve got a cyberbeast on order and I should be getting it early next year. I never really considered the all-wheel-drive model. But I thought I’d ask people here the following question: Can you think of any reason to choose the AWD over the Cyberbeast besides that it supposedly gets 20 miles more range?
When did you place the order?

Everyone is different. I was having a hard time deciding but am now super happy with the AWD I got.
For me, its crazzzy fast enough. I would launch beast mode a couple times if i had one and then know how that feels and not use it much again..
I would love a ride in a CB but for everyday use, prefer the AWD
