One of the things I'll be using my Cybertruck for is to transport my sport bike (Aprilia RSV4) to the racetrack for track days. Has anyone used theirs to transport a motorcycle? Any tips on loading / unloading (I'ver never loaded my bikes in a pickup bed before)? Recommended ramps, etc. ?

I'm also curious what the weight limit is for:
  • The tie down points (like the 4 in the bed where you can buy the square tie downs for) and the L tracks. Asking because I'll be using a Baxley wheel chock for the front tire and will need to secure it with tie down straps.?
  • Also curious about the weight limit of the tailgate.
    • I assume it can handle a 450 pound motorcycle being loaded into the bed since the folding Tesla ramp is rated for 750 pounds.

I know the 4 tie down points in the corners have a maximum of 707 pounds (according to the owners manual) but curious about the others.

I saw someone hauling a motorcycle in the back of their CT before I got mine in Knoxville Tennessee. I don’t know how they did it, but I know I saw it loaded in the bed of their truck.

I transported this BMW for a friend. We used a regular Harbor Freight ramp to ride it on the bed. Then we made sure both tires were between the grooves. We attached two ratcheting straps to the front fork on the bike with the other ends to the low corners of the bed against the cab. We tightened those up partially. Then one of us compressed the front suspension of the bike by sitting on it and pushing down. The other person further tightened the ratchets. We didn’t need any other tie downs. It was very secure. The bike owner does this all the time but I was impressed.

Info Only: You can install ten (10) D-Rings in the bed (Foundation Series came with four (4)).

I regularly transport two Stark Varg dirt bikes in the bed of my Cybertruck. They weigh approximately 260 lbs each. I use two aluminum ramps that fold up. I’m on the short side at 5’6” and two ramps makes it easier for me to load. I walk up one ramp and roll the bike up the other. I place the ramps between the bikes and strap them down so that they do not rub against my bikes during transport. I strap the bikes down to the lower D Rings. I drive for several miles on fire roads with them supported in this manner without any issues.

This is super helpful, thanks.

So nonneed for a front wheel chock?

Maybe I don’t need to use my Baxkey sport chock….

Right. The front tire is against the cab and in the groove of the bed. It has no place to go because of two forces of the straps and the suspension. I sat on the bike and leaned all the way right and left and tried to turn the handlebars and nothing moved.

Interesting, I'd never actually read the description. Guess I know what to do with the extras that came with my spare tire.
I ordered three more sets with my FS credits to go with the FS included four.

I guess I need to tie something down now, haha!!

I have all the d rings added to all avail spots. Also transport 2 Stark Vargs but I push the front tires out to the corners and use 1 floor d ring - toward the middle of the bed and then the l track toward the middle - bikes are off-road worthy tied down...been doing it this way since early June - every weekend. Use a step ramp (5 step = awesome), CT Entry Mode and Stark Crawl Mode - easiest loading of dirtbikes I've done in 40 years!

My street bikes havent been in the CT or my Diesel but if I did - ratchet straps for sure, attach to triple clamps/forks - not handle bars, populate the front of bed D Rings (all 4 so you have more angles if needed, get a helper, I think as said above - front tire in a groove, someone sitting on it to compress the forks when ratcheting and maybe tie downs on the pegs to give a bit more lateral support. RSV4 fender / fairing should clear CT bed angle fine by the looks of it. Weight shouldnt be a problem, RSV4 < 500lbs fueled.

Hauled my road glide.. easy , 750lbs plus me rode on and the tailgate didn’t flinch.. 900+lbs had chains just in case but removed them for the drive. Ended up using a small motorcycle jack to take the weight off the back wheel and transfer it to the bed by jacking just aft of the center of the bike and then strapping down to the four tie down points .. bike didn’t move for the 950 miles from DC to Florida

Which 5 step ramp do you have?

I also hope the bottom of the RSV4 won’t hit the top of the ramp when loading/unloading.

SR-B5 (5 STEP RAMP) - 500lb bike capacity and 350lb person - so may be a bit too close - I'd call them and discuss. Maybe 6 step will shorten the angle for more clearance....

Also, if you do the Ape frequently, figure out a chock setup - ultimately it should be easier and a bit safer....for a beautiful street bike, once in a while, straps ok - frequently then get the setup to ensure your baby is protected.

Thanks. Yeah, my plan is to use my Baxley Sport chok.

I maybe also put some plywood underneath it like PhilTMonster did with his Harley
