This is gonna shock most of you with this huge load (lol)...I had to get an 8 foot 4x4 post for my deck this weekend. Love having a truck where I can haul stuff like this.

From a few months ago forgot to post. Loaded it up too close to the front but handled it well. Just ate through the battery. 170 miles with trailer empty and another 170 loaded. 1100-1300 wh/mi.

12' Bull Gate fit perfect. Definitely a lot easier hauling these since there aren't wheel wells you have work around.

An audience joined when grabbing the skid steer.. Can confirm, horse teeth do not scratch the stainless steel.

Did you use 2 inch or larger diameter hitch ball? That’s a serous load!

@hemiarch this is the exact thing that I don’t think I can do anymore (post spoiler install) without some serious padding but like I said I kind of avoid this depending on the material in question already.

I actually have done this sort of thing more than once. The tonneau is a great securement device in a pinch ( not trying to be funny there, I just woke up this way)

Oh, it’s fantastic! You are correct that’s how I brought my OEM side skirts home from SoCal when I had the new rock sliders installed. Given that they were plastic I had less concerned about scratching up the top of the tailgate and didn’t put anything to protect it for the roughly 300 mile mostly 80mph trip home!

It did rub though and previously my way to protect this has been with a sacrificial expel cover layer. But with the spoiler there are two concerns, one it can be scratched, two I think the weight of a 2 x 4 like this with the t-cover pressing down on it in addition, would possibly deform it. It’s just ABS.

Why not put a piece of ppf on that thing? Matte, gloss, clear on wherever. You could even do a little carbon fiber thing but I think that would look a little cheesy on your truck. That shit is actually very strong. You wouldn’t believe what mine has resisted and is at least to some extent self healing

It’s already textured to match the existing OEM texture. I could’ve done that if I bought the smooth one but 1) it won’t prevent the deformation I think is likely if you did this without serious padding and 2) I would only do a spoiler that matches the existing texture like this or real carbon fiber which afaik @CYBERTRUCKco doesn’t offer.

I did the exact same thing with mine, it gently snugged them right in!😎
