Those two CT could be for a demo coming soon. Fremont is capable of making a fully functional final version prototype with the exception of the giga casting. Hopefully Nov unveil with one in stainless and one that's wrapped in flat black to give us an idea of the potential.

I don't think he will reveal prices TMR night ..he probably wants to release final pricing at the unveil after he shows off all the final specs and features. Releasing final pricing without new details will not be smart.

I would really rather there NOT be pricing tomorrow night for that reason. People will get irrational in either direction of it. Too much riding on it to just throw that out there. Small tiny chance of a range "it'll start over 65k" or something but that's so incredibly unlikely.

Yep. Earlier in the year Musk said something about not announcing a product on an earnings call and there would be a separate event for that.

I seriously doubt any news on specs/ pricing would be part of this call. Comments about production start timing. Comments about start of deliveries or anything along those lines are possible, but specs and pricing are customer facing as much/ more than investor facing and will likely be it’s own thing.

It looks like at least the closest CT-shaped object has tires mounted on it, but there is what appears to be a shipping pallet between the tires (along the length of the body). This makes me think that the CTs are either not fully functional or it is just easier to use a giant forklift to get them off the transport trailer (and having a pallet to slide the forks through would make a lot of sense).

I would further posit that, to protect the CTs, they have shrink wrapped shipping material around the body corners because the wheels and wheel wells stick out from the body on all of the prototypes that we have seen (and these two unit appear to be quite boxy around the lower half of the body). It sure looks like they want to "show" a production ready body soon (hopefully on the call tomorrow).

Smart phones are literally the one modern thing which updates less than annually.

Well my Samsung Android phone does software updates at least quarterly if not more. The wife's Iphone seems on a similar schedule although she chooses to ignore them. Must be a settings thing ...

My money is on the anniversary of the original announcement we'll have an event.
My money is on you guys being disappointed tomorrow and in November. If we have learned anything about this guy it is that he doesn't do anything when 'we' want him to. We 'have' had some good news of late and that may be the only news we are getting for a while.

We wanted a Cybertruck update last earnings call and we got it.

I think that’s all anyone should expect/ hope for on the quarterly earnings call.

As for next month…. I’m not getting my hopes up either. There will likely be a launch party in the next 6 months or so. Sooner is better but without the GP on site it’s kind of doubtful

I'm still stuck on November, even if I am wrong - it's something to look forward to with this truck.

I still just think regardless of the press, they'll do it. Let people get their money ducks in a row, see how many people cancel so they can adequately adjust for that, and lastly - avoid leaks.

I think it's really important they start controlling some aspect of this truck. Look at Semi production. It's in a legit secret Nevada warehouse across from Sparks that apparently no one gets into or talks about. They haven't updated that. Keep On Truck'n event 2022! ;) staying hopeful, regardless of earnings.

It’s a good point. But Tesla has historically just let leaks happen (many seem deliberate) as a way of distributing information. They usually don’t release final specs until launch party/ orders opening. This is quite a bit different though. It’s likely more than just a few miles more or less range and small differences in acceleration.

I do agree though, once they start initial production, leaks seem inevitable. Much bigger/ less secure facility than wherever they are doing it in Fremont.

I still think it’s most likely they don’t do anything until orders open up but ready for a happy surprise.

WHAT IF. (And it's an absolute what if, it isn't gonna happen....)

What if, tomorrow night - they mention the event. Then lets say we/ me is right on 11.18.22 or something. blah blah.

They open orders, but your preorder is still a thing in some weird capacity?

But, now the quad.. oooooh.

You can hop the line if you wire in the money like Semi / Roadster people did(right?? am I making this up??)

Would you stamp it funding secured and off goes the money for the truck? I am SO game if that means I have a truck by 6.1.22

Totally spit balling, this is just greggertruck ADHD tangent moment.
