Completely agree with you, a giveaway contest with winners is a giveaway, not a boost our Amazon ratings - but hey you said you actually liked the product so if its a fair review then its fair game. They could be a little more transparent about it though, simply say we have a geat product and we want to get some reviews so were going to give a few away to promote it. I do appreciate your feedback.
Exactly!!! Why I appreciate the opportunity it was extremely misleading and the distributer or manufacturer should be more transparent how this “giveaway” works.

Even if they say we want to offer you this product for free in return for an honest review on Amazon people would still be onboard.

I got the same offer for 50% off last week. At this point I’d rather pay some other seller more.

I appreciate you doing this @CTMODS . Some companies would have just sat back silent. Bit you came forward. Thank you for that.

Also if you plan to offer a free product you should be transparent with your audience. Me or anyone else getting in touch with you to be told I can get 90 percent off or 100 If I agree to write an Amazon review just because you wanna get some traction on your Amazon link and not truly offer a free product to the community just to get our feedback directly to you in how we feel about the product.

DM'ed and appreciate the candor. This community, really any community, is built on trust. Few of us have, or may ever, meet each other IRL. Trust is all we've got. When that gets breached, people don't feel good - not just about a vendor or a product, but about being active in this site in general.
I'd be happy to provide a review, as planned,

Kudos to @CTMODS for returning to this thread, laying it out there, and trying to make things right.

Candor huh? I got a bridge in Brooklyn and some oceanfront Arizona property you all might be interested in. If any of you think this is anything more than another rep of the bait and switch, discount/refund, dishonest approach to getting reviews bullshit, you’re sorely mistaken.
Here is the response to the DM sent last night five minutes after they posted.

How do we all think this is ok? Being paid off to write reviews on Amazon that mislead other Cybertruck owners into giving away money? Shame on all of us for going along with it.
y’all do whatever you like.
I am personally never doing business with @CTMODS again.
Keep your stupid usb hub. I’ll buy one at full price from an honest seller if I decide I want one.
$100 doesn’t buy my opinion.
Supporting this crap is not victimless. It actually hurts the honest sellers who support our Cybertruck community but if you don’t care, please enjoy your free (sorry, discounted and maybe refunded) token of sellout.
Makes me SO fucking mad that they bothered to dredge up this scheistery thread again only to repeat the same offense.

I got the same exact reply. If it’s free, then send it free. A “refund” through PayPal? No thanks.

Damn here I thought they were actually starting to care and show a solid initiative after the first fumbled bag.

I don’t agree with this process or how mine was handled I did applaud them for not telling me what kinda review I hate to write I just had to give an honest one. I reported there were some pros and some cons.

now if they said I needed to post a 5 star review I wouldn’t have even come this far.

but seriously MODS Moderators of this group are we not screening these opportunities to ensure there is some kind of ethics behind these opportunities?

If anything this contest made them look worse and had an opposite effect, sounds like they actually lost customers over this one. But hey at least you guys got your "contest winning coupon", I didn't even get that much for being selected as a "winner", I just got ghosted - not like I'd buy it anyway after this mess. They stepped up to the plate and dropped the ball again, it's not a good look giving people coupons and then refunds for a contest - only after they leave a review to drum up sales for them of course. If these guys can't reply to emails from a contest that they made and solve the conundrum of having to send out a whole 5 items to winners then good luck getting your remaining 72% or whatever it was refunded back afterwards.
