I’ll try to be brief:

Moved my work office, and had a wall connector installed.

- 208V three-phase service
- 60A breaker

I commissioned the wall charger and set it to 60A in the USA.

I plugged in, and only get 24A. The “+” is grayed-out on the charging menus.

I tried turning breaker off/wait/on, recommissioning, etc.

Nothing changed.

I just got home and plugged in and happened to notice in the Tesla App that I’m charging at 24A here, too.

Same grayed-out “+” in the truck. And I’ve always charged at 48A at home.

I then remembered that this morning I fleetingly thought it odd that it charged overnight and went from 20% to only 78% instead of a full charge.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like PCS failure..
Potentially; but also could derated because of a cold battery but I don't know if those notifications for that hit every time or just sometimes as reminders.

Can you ask another Tesla driver to test?
See… I’m obviously not the smart one in the group… 😂

THANKS!
I’ll check tomorrow.

I’ll test at work since I don’t have any friends at all, much less one that owns a Tesla. Ha

Does it give you the option to go over 24A when recommissioning? If not I would try commissioning via the Tesla One app, and then commission on the regular Tesla app afterwards. I had a similar issue once whenever my wall connector got a FW update.

Interesting!
This appears to be happening at both their work and home chargers.

Also, by "commissioned", the assumption is that the unit has been factory reset and isn't expecting 3 phase wiring anymore, right?

Aren’t all non-commercial services in the U.S. single phase? My understanding is that chargers that are designed for 3-phase service get 2/3 the current (a neighbor told me happened to them). Maybe the something similar happens in reverse?

The unit at work should be a single phase version on 208 L-L. Overseas has three phase WC to go with the Type 2 Mennekes connector and three phase vehicle charger, but not North American versions.

Holding the button on the handle should get it to display its configuration (otherwise power cycle it).

I don't think it's a PCS failure. A PCS failure will still allow you to set the max amperage to match the charger (the car just won't pull more amps than it's able to in a degraded state—and it'll display errors and why it's limiting itself). This was the behavior I experienced when I had a PCS failure with my other Tesla.

I think in his case, it's not letting him set the max current above 24A when the charger should be able to do 48A, which seems like some kind of communication error. Maybe try a restart?

We don’t have 208V. 240V. When you commission the WC you select the maximum charge amperage as 80% of the breaker. So with your 60A breaker it should let you select 48A as the maximum charge current. You can select the current in the app or car at or below that current. This is for a North American WC, 240V, and a single-phase service with correct wire gauge.

What "we" are you referring to?
The OP has three phase 208Y/120 at their office . Large condos apartments frequently have this setup also.

Moved my work office, and had a wall connector installed.

- 60A breaker
