May this never happen to you. I have 138 miles to last me until my service center appt on Monday. Even though Grok says I can usually charge at Superchargers, I just tried and I cannot. It says supercharger failure but I tried a different one and got the same message.

My home charging ended early and threw up a message “AC charging unavailable”. Service center appt required. I made the appt but the earliest is Monday. Nothing unusual about my home charging or state of charge being too low or too high.

I have 51,000 miles. I’m out of standard warranty so hopefully this will be considered part of battery drivetrain warranty. Grok says it could go either way and if I have to pay it’s around $4k.

We actually just had a poll on this. Seems to be a high likelihood every truck will have this issue just depends on when. I had the PCS failure at 5k miles...Is this OUR IMS/Vanos issue?

Keep us posted on how it goes, screenshots of post warranty service /costs would be very beneficial.

This happened to me a couple of days ago. I was trying out the 240V plug to my generator backup breaker. I had the breaker box panel off and without thinking I turned the main service breaker back on before shutting off the 50-amp generator breaker. I didn't think anything of it then went to plug my wall connector to the truck to charge it after testing the backup power and immediately got those errors.

I tried forcing restarting it several times using the scroll wheels and it didn't help. I put it into service mode and saw that the PCS was lit up red with errors when looking under the charging tab. It was also giving me an abnormal blockage detected alert in the service alerts that was showing up in the normal alerts. After doing some online searching I started to wonder if I blew the fuse on the device cluster that attaches to the ancillary harness.

After letting it sit for about an hour, I decided to go out and try the shutdown option in the menu. To my surprise before I could try that, I noticed I wasn't getting any more alerts and I was able to toggle my outlets on. I then plugged it in to charge and it started charging. Everything has been good for the past couple of days since then. I'm wondering if the truck has some kind of voltage overload breaker or GFCI built in and it somehow tripped it from high voltage trying to come back in the 240V plug, then resets itself after so long.

I've had my truck since July 2024, and have never had any other issues except when I took it in for service last year for busting my side mirror, Tesla put in a HV battery pack. They said nothing was wrong with mine but the engineers wanted my battery pack back to tear it down to get better info of the production line that had dented cells.

I have a preliminary update. I had to agree to $275 for the estimate but if it turns out to be the known PCS problem it will be free. They were out of loaners but will assign me one later today. Good news. Tesla Anaheim SC

Good news about getting in quickly. Wonder if the loaner can self-drive itself it you so you don't have to pick it up.

Update: It’s not covered and the estimate went up $75 for for some reason to $6350. Since I had a total electrical failure before, I might just see what a lemon law lawyer says. Sad to have to do that. If the lawyer says I have no case, I will just eat it but it’s worth a call. It also falls under small claims in California. Only 1000 miles over warranty, previous electrical problems, and currently not chargeable means it’s a $100,000 brick, and a known issue that the company could have been more proactive about. I’ll use Grok to help prepare the case, ironically.

If it handles propulsion, then why isn't the part covered under the battery and powertrain warranty?

I would be leaning heavily on reported electrical issues that were discovered prior to the warranty expiration.
