I'd really like to have one of the rooftop rearview mirror/camera setups.
I also would like it to just replace the existing (useless) rear view mirror.
So far, I've found 2 from TesStudio (S8, and S92 - which appear to just be different screen sizes), 1 from CybergearCo.
Neither one lists the actual recorded video resolution. (The higher res the better, I'd prefer 4K)
The TesStudio 3D printed roof mount - looks kind of clunky. The CybergearCo one - is smaller I think, but there aren't good photos of it.
(CyberGearCo has good instructions on how to install it. Don't see any on the TesStudio site)
Anyone know the actual video specs of these?

Are there others available? Again - replace the existing mirror using that mount.

Yeah, that is just a generic dashcam that mounts with a couple of big rubber bands over the existing mirror.
It's also only 1080P for the rear camera.

the s92 uses optical cables for the video so it's a native picture like the tesla cameras.

define "native". What is the actual video resolution that is recorded.

The WOLFBOX G900 TriPro Bumper Version 3 Channel Rearview Mirror looks like the best available, however, it is not Cybertruck specific

I have the G900 on my EKKO RV and it’s just OK. Problem is I don’t have anything else to compare, except the OEM screen, of which it doesn’t come close to. It’s the video quality. Set at the highest resolution you’d be hard pressed to get a license number.

Well, just found out that the CyberGearCo one is only 1080P front and back. (bleh)

The only advantage that the Wolfbox G900 seems to have is that it has a 3rd camera that can be mounted on the front. (at least the front cam is 2.5k, rear is still 1080P)
I'm not really worried about the display resolution - it's the recorded resolution that matters.

There are MANY Dashcams that have 4K front, 2.5K rear cameras, and that strap to the existing mirror. (Just search Amazon) These are generally well under $200.
I was really hoping for something that would replace the existing mirror, rather than being held to it with rubber bands.

I may have to see if I can 3D print a mount adapter that doesn't look like crap.
(and figure out how to deal with a 20' long cable to the rear camera. Will need to bundle it, or shorten it.)

It seems like the G900TriPro front mirror cam is 4K, and the front bumper cam is 1080P, and the rear cam is 2.5K

I have seen a lot of issues with C cable not reaching, screws not being long enough, issues with early VIN CTs. To me it seems like for the premium price of $300 these mfgs could get a decent option together that was better than a random digital cam off amazon for $99

Patiently waiting for some info that a company has figured it out and taken the steps to make sure the install can be done on all models/VINs of CTs

Okay, I've decided to use a Wolfbox G900 Pro.
I want to mount it above and behind the truck Display Screen. (MUCH more convenient to see than up where the useless rear view mirror is.)

Anyone have instructions on how/where I can get 12v power?
Also info on how to run the camera cable up to the roof?
Note: I did find the instructions for doing this if mounting the unit up on the rear view mirror. Those help a little...

I installed the Hansshow 12" version 2.
first it's the best mod I did. I would not drive the truck without it. Not only you see behind, but you also see 2 lanes on each side of blind spots. I love it.
But it has a bug and Hansshow support sucks, and you can't speak with anyone. When I drive alone it's great but if any of the doors open before driver door, the camera comes on, the when you open the Driver door, the camera powers off. The only way you can turn it on again is to unplug the usbc power and plug it in again then it powers on. So now I have to tell my passenger don't close your door till I get in. Horrible support from Hansshow.
they should be ashamed of what they're doing. I'm sure it's not only me. I'm sure it's happening to others. Please let me know if you have the version 2 and if you have the same problem.

Running this Hansshow unit, not sure on their version numbers but received it a few months ago

Keep in mind it does not passthrough power via the splice so if you have a second device, like a drivers display, you can use one or the other currently, not both. I believe it’s 4k front and 2k rear. Works really well with removable SD card and you can adjust the resolution to suit.

One of the reasons I like the s92 and there are several, is that the front cam is a separate small unit rather than mounted to the mirror like some of the others. There is in my opinion zero point in adding a second dash cam to Tesla’s, but I have found another use for that cam. Mine is mounted facing rearward in the front of the roof glass and functions as a back seat cam. This means I can either have a high res nice picture of my kids or a split screen view with them and the vault/back of the car.
significantly more useful in my opinion.
because I was an early adopter my s92 experience was less than stellar but I think most of the kinks have largely been worked out. The smaller s8 is a significant downgrade in terms of resolution and screen quality, not just size.
@Tesstudio often offers deals on these cameras too so it’s worth asking before buying on the website.
