The highest out of pocket price ive seen is around $7600. Others have reported less. This is not a component that is supposed to fail. It is not supposed to “wear out”. Its failing either because it was defectively manufactured (more likely) or defectively engineered.
Shouldn't we be reporting this to NHTS?

I think if something fails and its replaced under warranty and fails again, it still falls under a warranty repair. Im sure if its lik 15 years later they wouldn't but if it fails a year or 2 later, or 10,000 miles later id think there would be a pretty good reason to ask for it
has anyone had the PCS replaced twice? maybe add that to the vote

seems my new PCS is rev G, just replaced last week
how many revs does it take to cure the issue and prevent futures?

Anecdotally, I did get a weird notification from the Tesla app in the middle of the day last week that said something about Powershare unavailable. Then it resolved itself. (There was no power outage in the area, or at my house, so it was out of the blue). I thought we had some sort of power brownout or something and didn't think anything of it.

Now I'm wondering if it was an early warning sign of PCS failure. Interesting.

I will also say that my service center (Fife, WA) usually makes me wait a few weeks to schedule something. This time, when I requested service in the app, they showed available appts starting within 2 days of the request. I wonder if they prioritize PCS issues, knowing the possibility of the truck becoming undriveable.
Same, but I’m driving into Fife here in a few. I’m only at 28% and can’t wait.

I wonder if this latest slew of PCS issues was triggered by one of the recent software updates. Seems weird that there's kind of a cluster of them now.

Good luck! Service said the remote diagnostics team will be looking at my truck, hopefully today. Else, I'll bring it in on Friday. I'm still able to charge at a reduced rate for now.

I agree with your post, I just wonder if if all these failures are somehow attributed to power sharing to houses.

I just watched the Sandy Munro video actually twice more focusing on the toroidal transformer's new design. It maybe a totally new concept /design for the ferrite core windings being replaced with printed circuit board copper traces. I'd never heard of that before and it makes me b suspicious of that being the problem. what if the distance between ferrite and circuit traces become inductively uncoupled with the ferrite due to the looseness of ferrites on the board that Mr. Prucha or the other guy mentioned. would not that make a failure?

Well, I think I'm about to join the club. Last few days, all of sudden the truck won't go above 24amps. I have multiple chargers and they all doing the same, but 2023 MY is fine. Should I bother doing a test with supercharger or just setup a service call. No errors of any kind in the app or truck.
So far no errors, just charged to 100% today, normally I do 80%. I normally charge at 24amps - even though I have a 50amp line, so I'm not exactly sure when the issue might have started. I've never needed to charge at more amps based on my usage.

A few days back, I was going to need more than 80% so I went to raise the amps and noticed it wouldn't. I'm right at 17k miles.

Made an appointment with the SC - they will replace the PCS according to the appointment details.

Just installed the latest software update today (2025.45.7). Had one short drive, after arriving home got these errors:
- PCS2_a048_dcacOverVoltage
- PCS2_a062
- HVBATT_a174

It wouldn't charge from wall charger or mobile charger. Haven't tried supercharger yet.
Not good.

unless some electrical engineer gets ahold of the failed pcs units and evaluates for a root cause, the public may never know why this is happening.

Update:

Tried charging on supercharger, it failed with no error.
I scheduled a service appointment, but brought it to a closest service center 2 days earlier out of fear of being stranded. They took it in with no questions (big thank you to the tesla team). Got loaner, now the status is "Waiting for Parts". Current estimate is 8 calendar days.
