The cybertruck frunk is a joke. I would trade the bed space for a proper spare like the f150 and a frunk like the f150
Do you own a cybertruck?

You’d also have to accept a retro design that pointlessly has a large front end able to accommodate an ICE which is fine but in my opinion not worth the other compromises.
Appears the Tesla engineers agree.
I agree a spare would have been a better feature in an off-road capable truck than a sub trunk.
Pre 2020, Elon was very vocal about looking for partners in the auto industry. Taking Tesla’s tech and innovation, with Ford’s 100 years of truck experience could’ve made something great.

I’m torn on that. It’s nice having the smugglers bay for an air compressor, mobile charger, and tools. The spare strapped to d-rings works fine for when you need it, but on the flip side it’d be nice to just always have a spare tucked up in there.

Don't worry, in future updates, the frunk space will increase. And add auto inflate tires, like in Demolition man and iRobot movie.

The frunk is something Tesla engineers got right! Personally, I find the frunk very useful for stuff on road trips that I don't want in the cabin or bed where it's less convenient. That's the home of the road trip/day trip cooler and perhaps spare jackets for cooler weather.

When I cut firewood it's miles better than my F-150 to have a very handy place for my chainsaws. I only have one electric saw that's big enough for large firewood rounds so I still bring my gasoline pre-mix saw, fuel, oil, etc, things I don't want in the cabin. With my F-150 I always had to find a safe place for the saws with all the firewood in the bed (and the 18-20" bars made that tricky). Not only that, when the bed is empty (before cutting wood) the saws needed to be secured in the empty bed. In the frunk no securing is necessary.

The frunk holds two saws with 20" bars in their cases, fuel and oil, batteries and charger, rigging lines, helmet and work gloves. I can pull up to the cutting site, open the frunk, and get to work. It's super easy to load and unload too (and no gas fumes get in the cabin) and I no longer have to take the saws into consideration as I pack the bed full of firewood.

I don't see any safe place for saws.

A bigger frunk is only better if it doesn't involve other design compromises. It would have been easy for Tesla to add another foot of depth to the Frunk but that would have added another foot to the overall length of the truck. I'm very glad they didn't do that because one more foot would add only a small amount of increased function while being a huge net negative for turning around on mountain trails, parking at the store or even at home.

The best thing about the Cybertruck is how unbelievably versatile it is! It just does everything well.

The frunk space in the Cybertruck is unlikely to ever increase by more than an inch or two in any direction. The design team really did their homework well when it came to packaging of the thermal system, climate control, driver controls, electrical, and other necessary items without making the vehicle longer than it needed to be and still having a very functional frunk. Making it significantly bigger would require making the truck bigger, and that's just not in the cards.

Most of those EVs are box on frame. It's always soft and feel weird to drive. I like the Rivian R1S and would have gotten one if I had reserved it at $75k. I don't think its worth anything more above that. I love my CT beast, and the only thing I hate is I can't lay down in it. My kids does a lot of activities and I usually just nap in the car while they do their things. Easy in other Teslas where I just lay in the back/truck.

For 2 years, no delaers would sell me a Hummer SUV at MSRP so I had to take delivery on my CT. Couldn't find another options. If I didnt buy my CT, I would probably look at the Lucid Gravity today.

The gravity does seem a solid offering. I wish they’d do a truck version. Actually right now I don’t really care. But I’d need that if Tesla ever discontinued the CT and mine gets totaled.

I still see lucid as a boutique brand like fisker. Don’t trust them. Not stable enough as a manufacturer for me. And no FSD? For more money than the equivalent teslas?
no thank you. Some of the models are cool but not for the coin.

Forgot about FSD. I was never a huge fan of FSD, but 14.2.1 is good. Very good. I think it's so good that we should be able to supervise from the back seat soon. We just need to help if it gets stuck in a parking lot or airport.

I would not had experienced 14.2.1 if I didn't own a CT so would probably still look/test drive a Gravity. All my other Teslas are on FSD 3.0 so stuck on v12 atm (which I don't like and even prefer to just drive in EAP).

It’s so good the Tesla vehicles don’t actually even have to be that good. No chance they can compete with Porsche let’s say for build quality but it doesn’t actually matter.
I personally won’t consider another car that doesn’t drive itself no matter what the feature set, appearance, price, efficiency or anything else.
Not one that says it drives itself mind you. One that actually does.

Oh yeah for sure. This is in a world where FSD isn’t a factor and CT gets discontinued. Really using my imagination here. Even with that much imagination I still want more from Lucid lol
