Drove a Rivian today. Drove a Chevy, Ford. My thoughts.

I'm a big fan of not buying things you can't easily afford. But I think I would figure out how to do without a truck before I willingly bought a Ford or GM EV pickup. That's how important I find software to the ownership experience. Obviously, you are fine with it, something I have trouble understanding, given how important good software is to me. The software defines the personality of your car and your relationship with it.
I never said I was fine with it. I said it sucks but I do not define a truck as useless because of inferior software. Again, its important to you, to each his own. And also, I do not have a crystal ball to which I could foresee bad software so at the time of purchasing it, there was nothing wrong as far as I knew at the time. Other than that, my Lightning has been very useful for me and I don't regret buying it. Your comments about being anti-Elon because we didn't buy a CT was just way over the top and ridiculous. Its borderline calling someone stupid because they didn't make the same choices as yourself. You wouldn't like it if I called all you Elon fanboys so, come on relax, everybody don't like what you like. That kind of stuff is exactly what turns people off about being a part off or joining an online community.
Fair enough?

The cybertruck frunk is a joke. I would trade the bed space for a proper spare like the f150 and a frunk like the f150
Oh no, don't say that. Some might think you have some, "dope anti-Elon hate." 😬

The lucid looks like a very nice luxury vehicle.

CT's and Telsa cars/truck are very, very nice and good but there is a reason for so many different car/truck makers and styles. Each maker has made some nice vehicles and some real losers, clunkers over the years.

It's like beer in a way, some swear by a certain brand/style yet other beer brands continue to be enjoyed by other people. Everyone has different tastes.

Sure I will be the first to admit my Hybrid is not a super truck like the CT but it does what we want and more that we do not even use to this day. It has that auto braking for accidents avoidance, auto warnings, lane assist feature, cruise features for passing, camera's and many other features. All this and full maintenance covered except for tires and gas for 5 years and was 33K out the door(including TX tax/title/tag).

Many people just want a basic small truck with some nice features and Mavrick sales numbers show it. The Mavrick will sell over 150K units again this year. They sold close to 10K in the month of November this year. Not everyone needs or desires a truck the size of the CT, I still say and will continue to say I think the Cybertruck is a very good vehicle but it was just to big for our needs. If they made one a bit shorter/smaller it would have been on our list to look at to buy in 2024.

Here are Ford's Mavrick sales for Nov 2025 FYI.

"Maverick sales totaled 9,883 units in November 2025, representing a 43.3% increase in sales compared to November 2024.

Year to date sales total 141,873 - a 11.9% increase from 2024."

Enjoy your CT and keep sentry mode on so you can capture the idiots who do stuff. They should be caught and charged if possible.

Drove a Rivian yesterday. I Found it stiff and vague. Steering is heavy. Go petal is stiff. Cab is really small. Deceivingly small. Nice rig but NOT even on the same level as the CT at all. I also have driven the Chevy EV. What a floating boat of a truck wandering and swaying compared to the CT. Fast starts rock it back a lot. Quick steering feels like it's going to just roll over. The Ford Lightning is just a F150 electric. It is confusing to use, body is soft and is like all my other trucks. It charges slow and does not even touch the Ct's software. Haven't driven the Hummer but it's just too damn tall for all of us. My opinion is NOTHING compares to the amazing CT. I think with Ford halting the Lightning, Chevy and GM constantly rethinking their models and cutting back as well they really felt the heat from the CT. I think Rivian is amazing but still so far to go for their 6 digit price. Gut feeling is in a few years the CT will be the benchmark all these "influencers and YouTubers" will compare all other trucks to. Also,, side note,, Whistlin Diesel still drives his!! It's beat to sh%$ but he still runs it. WOW. Have a good day.
Other than personal biases, everyone also has different use cases. A lot of the GM truck buyers just want the longer range for towing. In addition, the big batteries are ideal for arbitrage/selling power to the utility in order to offset some of the cost of the trucks.

To each his own.

No, it's not "fair enough". Because I said there were at least two reasons why someone might avoid the Tesla. They might be one of those brainwashed "Elon bad" people, or they might not feel comfortable driving something that looks so different from other trucks. I'm sure there are other reasons too, I didn't attempt to make an exhaustive list, I just named two reasons why someone might avoid buying a Cybertruck.

Are you denying that a lot of people avoid buying a Tesla because they have been brainwashed to think Elon is bad?

Rivian apparently invited some diehard Tesla YouTube fans for their autonomy day on 11th to showcase their self driving capabilities 🤔

No, I'm not denying it but in your initial comments, it sounded like you were bashing anybody that chose not to buy a Tesla by saying, Elon hate, but didn't say at least one rational reason why someone wouldn't chose to buy a Tesla. I'm pretty sure you would think there's a rational reason unless you think its all Elon hate.

You missed it, the other reason I gave is they weren't comfortable driving a truck that looks as different as the Cybertruck.

Some people have a weak spine when it comes to what others might think.

Your comments are an Ad hominem.
Why can't you just accept that some people don't like what you like. You speak as if your reasons for buying a CT is somehow intellectually superior to others. " I don't know what buyers of non-Tesla EVs are smoking." Really dude? No one can make a different choice than yours without your harsh criticism about someone's character?
